This is how I perceive the major reception to both here on VGC and elsewhere. Many NX fans and followers at this point have learned this lesson: Be open-minded, be optimistic if you like, but be skeptical until something is actually announced. PS4K is relatively new compared to the NX rumor mill. It's fans and followers are taking things at face value like many NX fans have done - and it could burn them just as it has with NX fans.

Not looking to start a fanbase war about which is better. That's pointless because until we actually see them firsthand, they're barely even real - so the two can't even be compared. And that's the point, both exist no futher than how we might conceive they might be. There's no point in taking stock in any rumor, 'leak', or even patent filings.

Did I mention it's almost April 1st?

I'm not really looking for reasons to hate the NX. Even if I'm skeptical about how Nintendo will handle it, I'm still looking for the announcement and initial reception. If I don't like how it turns out, I'll still keep my mind open and look at how the general public likes it upon launch.

No one knows anything substantial about PS4.5 yet, and it's all speculation and "leaks" on what it actually is. I just really don't want to see Sony preemptively/accidentally start a "Gen 8.5". Because at this point, PS4.5 is almost beginning to be accepted as something that's going to happen, whatever it turns out to be. I'd really rather that it not exist, just so the possibility of it being anything with bad effects is completely diminished.

some people have said ps4k rumors are fake and that sony wouldn't do such a thing.

PS4k - It seems to be either more POWERFUL than the PS4, or just slimmer version.

NX - At this rate it could be anything. We don't even know if it will be more or less powerful than the Xone or the PS4. And the recent fake controller has shown that those patent pictures of the controller should not be taken "literally".

Soooo NX is more important xciting. And like you said, NX followers have a broader idea of what it would be.

But one thing is for sure that Nintendo has DIRECTLY said that the NX is REAL. But have Sony done the same for the PS4k?

Have Sony even confirmed that this thing is Real? Because Nintendo done it with the NX.
