Forums - Gaming - Most disappointing game this generation for you?

foodfather said:
Too many to chose from. You got ;

Forza 5 - Pitiful lack of content. Could have killed the franchise. Thankfully T10 redeemed themselved two times over.
Watch Dogs - Horrid campaign, downgrades and bugs.
MGS5 - Dreadful story and game design.
Destiny - What happened to Bungie?
Halo 5 - What was 343 thinking? Pathetic campaign and unfocused MP.
Black Ops III - What happened to the A team aka Treyarch?. This was worse than Ghosts. .
Battlefield Hardline - What was Dice thinking? The whole experience makes this feel older than BF3.
Homefront: The Revolution - Homefront was a surprise hit to me. This one is just awful based on the beta.

HM goes to Halo MCC: Took 343 6 months to fix this. Thankfully it plays fine now. Halo 3 is a blast on BTB.

I actually liked BF:HL. It was dumb, but an enjoyable FPS game. I came into it with low expectations though.

Homefront wasnt a surprise hit. It was THQ's effort to attract the CoD and BF audience and it was given a huge push. But it was a mediocre campaign.

Bravely Default. There were other games that I did not like but my expectations were the greatest to begin with so yes.

I like the battle system and the job classing, etc. that I would like in a typical JRPG, but the story is awful. I'm not done the game yet, but I've come to the first twist and going back to the same place over and over fighting the same bosses (albeit with slight variations) is really disappointing

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]

Pokemon X/Y. Lack of postgame content made me feel like multiplayer was put there first and the campaign was just there. Don't have time for all that breeding and EV/IV stuff. Skipped OR/AS entirely because of the sour taste that was left in my mouth.

Either MCC or Halo 5

How do you feel about Destiny?

As a long time Halo fan, that game was my biggest disappoitment.

It was as bad as I expected.

wow I'm not the only one who thought of multi being first and story second, I still haven't picked up my Y version since I completed the story, I never did care for MP content when it came to Pokemon, even back with the first few gens and having friends close by, I've always just played it for the story, catching and gyms but not EV training or Breeding to get shinies of every Pokemon.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Paper Mario: Sticker Star and Color Splash, it doesn't matter that I haven't played either, I know what they're and I'm better off not wasting my time and money on them.

I'm now filled with determination.

MGS V: Great gameplay and the environments are great but the writing (Ocelot what happened to you?), story falls short, it just sort of ends and almost everyone is totally underdeveloped, and the sidequests were rather dull. After all the years of hype and a solid opening, it's a shame that it felt so half-baked.

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team: Overall it was just decent, no more no less. The plot was relatively uninteresting, and I did not really enjoy the setting too much either. Compared to other M&L it just felt a bit flat and rather boring.

Battlefront.

Nothing else comes close. This flop nearly killed what little interest I had left in gaming.

Halo 5 if/when they put all the modes in will be the best MP of any Halo.

Arkham Knight was such a disappointment I forced myself to finish it and haven't touched it since. Should have been called The Batmobile and Batman
