Forums - Nintendo - (Rumor) New info NX- More Powerful than PS4, GDDR5, Zelda: Feilds of Dawn NX, $350 Nintendo achievements.

I think it's worth keeping in mind this gif, for our own mental health

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

This rumour/leak came from Reddit. Iirc the guy couldn't differentiate from DDR5 and GDDR5 leading a lot of people to say it was fake. I was going to make a thread about another NX rumour/leak thing but it was from Reddit so I thought that stuff was not allowed, or at least frowned upon. In either case, here's what the leaker said(btw he works in marketing);

-The console is far more traditional than what Nintendo has been leading people to believe. There will be a screen controller however, but from what I can gather, though it works with the console, it's more of a standalone device and the main controller is 'slightly bulkier pro controller'. Apparently the screen controller has to with Nintendo Reach and Wii U stuff.

-no spec details whatsoever, apart from somewhere between XB1 and PS4, 'powerful and affordable'.

-The handheld nand console share the same OS, some games are shared.

-As per online, only things being pushed are voice chat, cloud saves and My Nintendo Missions

-Wii U backwards compatibility is seemingly locked behind the screen controller. SO it seems if you don't have the screen controller, then no Wii U. I guess.-Could be reading this wrong, as he said Wii U ports are happening-I'll post what he said directly
"you need a handheld for Wii U setting."
"there are 2 settings in the ports"

-There will be a New Animal Crossing game

-The Legend of Zelda game is called The Legend of Zelda: Fields of Dawn-NX version will be slightly upgraded version of Wii U version. Super Mario Underground- uses the scrolling buttons for digging?

-Size of the handheld component will be the bottom part of 3DSXL, will be marketed as 'the full immersion display', has some form of head-tracking.

-Retro is making Nintendo All Stars-an action RPG *I'm betting this is the point where everyone will be calling bullshit, not necessarily for it sounding like bullshit, but not wanting to believe it as well*. How about some more salt though? It's Nintendo's take om Skylanders. - Scheduled for Next Year

-Trev's leaker got fired-apparently it was an embarrassing ordeal

-"So the "real innovation" or hook is going to come along when the portable launches? Split marketing - casual (handheld) and core (console and console+handheld)?"

"basically yeah."

-It comes with controller, console and 5 virtual console games there is also a bundle that comes with MiiWare

-From what I understand, it does use carts, but it seems to be used for the handheld side of things to play its games on the console?

-Nintendo Reach $350

-No real gimmick associated with the console apart from the handheld component and it's interoperability

-How do the games look on the handheld? "Like jaggy Wii U games"-someone says probably 540P screen.

-There will be a late April event.

Take with a mount fuji of salt. But if you start hearing of Nintendo Reach or anything, it might be a good idea to check back there.

I call BS. Why wouldn't you have a start/select button? That would mean that for every game every single developer would have to program where to put those buttons, which would take unnecessery time and effort from the developers. It would simply be easier to have actual buttons for those functions. It's small things like that that make this smell like BS

this leak sounds more plausable,  but I doubt it's correct.

If the Beyond Good and Evil 2 deal is true, wouldn't that be a western AAA exclusive?

So like a new handheld and it can compete with mobile devices.

Good.

A gaming system need exclusives so I can agree on this. It would be horrible playing platoon against handheld gamers.

Achievements

Wow

Adding this to the op

It could be Retros game

This leak doesn't make sense to me. Why would Nintendo aim for a traditional console but then opt for a re-tread of the gamepad controller? The gamepad was the whole reason why the Wii U wasn't a "traditional console" in the first place. If Nintendo is going to go with a conventional console, put everything they have into the specs and give gamers a Wii U pro-controller in the box.
