Forums - Sony - Sony: PSVR May Come To PC

Considering they haven't even released their own driver for the PS4 controller on PC, I wouldn't hold my breath for this.

Some games like Rocket League support it natively. But still no official drivers...

I actually, think this is great news. This could mean PSVR will work with the XBO spec 2 as well. That would be a huge win for everyone.

This could also lead to PSVR being used a lot as a marketing tool. So far PSVR is by far the most comfortable, and easy to put on headset of the bunch. Couple that with its lower price tag, and you have a great device for demoing products in the VR space.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

hopefully they do this - not being limited to PS4 VR experiences will be a good thing for every PSVR owner

So who would buy the PSVR on PC with no support, when they can buy a dozen other headsets?

Me, I perfer console over PC and with PSVR being cheaper why would I buy any of the other VR headsets?

That would be great for the headset per se, but I dunno, being a PS4 exclusive at least in the beginning is the best idea, it pushes less headsets but also pushes PS4s.

It definitely won't happen straight away. Maybe at some point in the next 4 years but Sony won't want to take away the potential PS4 selling power.

i think sony would be smart to get psvr working on pc.

they already said psvr is being sold at a profit. psvr working would sell a lot more psvr headsets then a ps4 exclusive psvr would sell ps4s. I could see vive and OR getting destroyed if it was the only headset to work on both console and pc.

then again,. sony isn't that smart.

These threads are great for finding out which consoles some people own ...

Now THAT has the chance of making PSVR really succesful, specially if it dosent need a pc as powerful as the one that Oculus/Vive asks to.

I honestly think it will. The reason sony can do so much with so little on the PS4 is because it is a fixed platform etc.

Yeah, if Sony were smart they'd tell everyone the PSVR 'may' be coming to the PC in order to make people wait and not buy PC specific VR, but they're not smart enough to fool that many people who are clearly smarter than them.

How so??. Going by this site alot of PS4 fans also own a "Gaming" PC. So why wouldnt they want to be able to use the one headset on both their systems??.

Taking into account what i said in my other reply to you. Who exactly benefits from if the PSVR stayed only working on PS4?.

The answer would be Sony.

This launch is aimed squarely at the current install but once PSVR is well known PSVR will help sell PS4s. Sony will not want to take away that 'potential' by putting it on PC straight away. It may come to the PC but a lot further down the line.
