I find it interesting that even with DirectX 12 the PS4 still significantly outperforms the xbone in almost all fronts. Kept on hearing how ddr3 was supposedly superior to gddr5 in terms of latency but that's clearly not true.

Then what is it about ?

Read the part of the sentence that you didn't bold.

Cause Sony has the more lower level API according to reports and more GPU power which will cement it's lead against the Xbox One, is that the answer you were looking for ?

Yeah, but the video card in that comparison is significnatly more expensive than the consoles. The masses simply don't want to pay that much to make the same games look better.
Personally I'm open to the idea of improved specs 4-5 years into the generation as long as all games work on old and new specs. In theory, Sony and MS could have a more powerful console in 2017 or 2018 still priced at $299 - $350.

Obviously, yeah, a Titan Fury X will set you back more than a console.
I should probably clarify I'm not a "PC master race" guy, my laptop has all the processing power of a lemon and would probably struggle to run most PS4/Xbox One multiplats. And obviously, as a Wii U gamer, I'm not a graphics enthusiast either, and PS4/X1 offer more than I'd need in terms of juice.
It just never ceases to make an impression on me when I see the numbers put side by side like that.
I'm happy with these results as a ps4 owner :)
What it shows:
- xbone has a higher profit of async compute than ps4.
- the fury x completely stomps both consoles
- the difference is smaller than the usual forum talk suggests
What it doesn't show is whether the difference is because of the gpu, or dram, or both.
