Maybe your response to him was irrelevant as well. Graphics comparisons were a popular top pre-2006.

If anything, this topic became more interesting with video but still primarily discussed by forum dwellers.

I'd actually like a relevant reply, from him. So, as nice as I can put it - allow that to happen.

You should have given him one first. :-p

Also, its forum. Don't be surprised when you broadcast a message and people respond.

Once again the PS4 slightly outperforms the Xbox One. I'm shocked.

Obviously, a PS4 capable of comfy 4K should obliterate the current model. That said, we'd need to know the specifics of this potential machine, before drawing any real conclusions. Ex. - There are $1,500-$2000 PCs capable of 4K and then there are PCs like mine. Difference? Mine destroys those, even though they're all capable of running games in that resolution.

So you're trying to say a PS4k will obliterate a 4k PC?, or completely and utterly annihilate a PS4?.

You do realise they aren't aiming directly for 4k native gaming right?, it makes perfect sense to aim for photos and media which is more or less growing in the realm of media and photography than say gaming for consoles at 4k.

Well, the gap is bigger than usual in this one.

Unfortunately.

I thought the gap was getting smaller amongst third party offerings but I guess that's not the case.

My point was that we have no idea what the specs will be, but for a PS4 to be 4K-ready (in a gaming sense), it will have to pack a considerable upgrade from the current model. The part about the PCs was just saying that there are different speced machines capable of this output. Whether it's $2000 or $5500.

Also, I'm guessing you know more than me regarding this new PS4. Where does it state what the absolute goal is?

Where does it state that they want very cheap 4k gaming?.

No really in the sane logical world, where are they going to give what PC users aren't already there for a way cheaper price and very optimal output?.

is 4k super cheap on PC these days?, if not then I honestly don't expect Sony to somehow single handedly wipe out every other tech manufacturer on the planet to create something that wipes out everything in terms of performance and native 4k gaming for £400 or less, I'm sorry but I just don't.

I'm still puzzled as to why these sorts of ''articles'' or ''analysis'' exists.

I have this blown up at aprox 129'' and I see no difference whatsoever.

Where were they in the PS2/xbox days, you know, when one version made the other version look like a last gen title and in some places effect the gameplay???

I think you either need a better projector or glasses if you can't see the difference between 900p and 1080p at 129" screen size.

During the ps2/xbox days everyone was gaming on CRT tvs. Native display res is not a big issue on CRT. XBox games generally looked a bit blurry compared to ps2 games which usually lacked anti aliasing. I had both, still bought Fahrenheit (Indigo prophecy) for ps2 for the uncompressed toslink pro-logic sound versus lossy 320 kbps AC3 on XBox.

Might be a situation of some studios putting less focus on X1. Fromsoftware also has experience working on PS4 already.

Oh well, the only thing worse than a slighly inferior port is no port at all. Fans of the series have dealt with worse graphics and performance.

I think you're getting this mixed up. I've not said what the absolute goal was. I'm asking you what it is. And the PC stuff doesn't pertain to this at all.

What do you think the goal is then?.

So, it looks like the PS4 version is very well done... I'm glad cause that's the version I'm getting.

Anyway, I just hope they maintain the fps stable throughout the entire journey, we don't want to across another Blighttown for sure.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Even watching the video of them side by side I honestly didn't see a difference. I'm sure if I was watching both on two big TV's that I might notice a difference though.

This is always a problem with TouTube, and makes graphics comparison videos pretty much useless. YouTube compresses the videos to the point where a 2K video on YouTube will look worse than an uncompressed 720p video.
