I almost Always turn up the brightness setting so that wont be an issue :).

I watched that DF vid just yesterday and was a bit worried because I'm planning to play AW again soon. I did wonder why they didn't say anything about adjusting brightness. Good to know it works! Once again a reminder never to trust DF too much.

American Nightmare runs and looks great on X1 that's for sure. It is a bit dark but it gives a nice atmosphere actually.

Maybe a good time to play through AN againg this easter :).

So, upping the brightness will wash out the image a bit if you have crushed blacks, but it seems like a fair trade-off for the better performance.

However, posting a thread about something that gives an opinion, and then reversing the opinion in the thread based on your own off the collar feelings, and then trying to back it up with a random YouTube comment, is iffy at best, and possibly down right fabrication.

X1 colour pallet is darker so its a given. As for better framerate and no screen tearing is definitely a major improvement over a colour issue that can be adjusted. X1 is a clear winner for this BC game.

Yeah it has been for a while now. I've only played it through the first run but I'll finish rest of it soon while getting ready for QB.

Oh and I really don't get why some seem to have problem with this thread. I thought this is good to know stuff for anyone interested playing Alan Wake on X1.

Here's the thing, I suspected the darkness things could be resolved by adjusting the brightness. I noticed a comment saying the same thing.

Later that night I played it myself and ran into the dark scenes the video was referring too. Adjusting the brightness indeed did help. I'm just surprised DF didn't figure it out themselves.

I'm just going to fire it up in an hour.
Better off worse, I already own the game and my xb1 can play it.
