Forums - Nintendo - Whoa, Factor 5 working on Kid Icarus...True?

So now Factor 5 is good that they are working on the Wii...I thought they were supposed to be one of the worst devs in history after Lair?

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Awesome. Thanks for the info. When was the Wiik n review released, yesterday?

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

i'd rather Kid Icarus not be able to rapid fire arrows like an Xwings lazers... while he flies around and ties giant monsters legs together.
That made me laugh. He'll have a magic cable to deploy when flying around a set number of large slow moving 4 legged monsters.

Everybody knows they screwed lair up , because Sony was pressuring them to hately finish it.

I'm sure nintendo would let Factor 5 have as much time as they want, it's not like they are going to run out of 1st party games.

I wouldn't trust Factor 5 to make a good Kid Icarus game...but tell me, what are people thinking this Kid Icarus game is going to be like? Because I have no idea.

I do know that if it will involve walking or platforming in general, I wouldn't trust Factor 5.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I hope it doesn't end up being a wiiware game.

I have no idea what it would be like, ben. But if it's factor 5, I'm inclined to believe that Pit will be flying pretty much the entire time. They said in an interview that it will use the wii mote only and that they plan on using the IR pointing function extensively. So I'm guessing pit will fly around and shoot stuff (if the rumors are true).

I don't trust Factor 5 to make this game. They've shown an inability to successfully use motion control and then showed an inability to take criticism well concerning that same project. Imagine Miyamoto coming in with drafts, changes or whatever to Kid Icarus and having Factor 5 staff argue him over it. Not only that, but Kid Icarus includes a lot more than just flying, and I'm not sure factor 5 would be up for the challenge.

No, Factor 5 is not working on Kid Icarus. Nintendo would be crazy to outsource the development of that game to developers that have not developed an action RPG. These guys can not developed ground based missions correctly. They've failed with their attempts in Lair and Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike.

All Nintendo needs to do is let a group at HAL, Monolith, or EAD Tokyo develop the game. They all have proven track records and will get the job done.

Let Factor 5 develop PilotWings or some Space Craft combat game like Colony Wars for the PSX.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Who says it has to be an action RPG? Who would've pegged metroid coming out of hiatus as a FPS? Wario becoming star of a bizzare microgames series? Pit hasn't been around for 2 decades, he could come in any form the developers wanted him too.
