One Piece - Lola confirmed as Big Mom's child! I guess my chat with Luke here was fruitful. The way Oda inserted that confirmation into the story was awkward, but oh well, glad to get more info.
It seems like Big Mom's power is almost identical to Moriah's, with the exception that the former Shichibukai can reanimate corpses, while Big Mom can animate anything beside corpses. I'm kinda curious if Oda did this intentionally, or if he was just running out of ideas for Devil Fruit abilities. If it was intentional, I hope these characters will interact at some point; technically Moriah is still alive somewhere as far as we know.
I'm getting a Dressrosa vibe already, but we'll see if that changes. I have a feeling all of Big Mom's ex-husbands will have similar fates to this dude, and Luffy and co. will rally them all somehow.
My Hero Academia - Yes I'm gonna drop my inner weeb and stop saying "Boku no" with this manga. I find it obnoxious with other manga I follow, so I shouldn't do it here, even if I'm more used to that title.
Anyway, I was just talking about this yesterday, but the pairing stuff is still going strong with Deku/Ochako. Like Animegaming, I'm curious if anything will come of this in story, or if they'll pussyfoot around their feelings for the rest of the manga. I like the pairing, so I hope something happens, just not at the expense of Ochako's character. I hope the author can handle this well. Best girls can have love interests...but they also need to be great chararacters in their own right.
Someone needs to punch Monoma.
New dude...I don't remember his name in entrance rankings. I thought Bakugou was the top student. Maybe I'm confusing it with something else.
One Punch Man - I don't typically post updates on this, but eh, it's out the same day as my Jump manga, so might as well.
Fubuki is cool. Tatsumaki is coming.
Actually that's all. No wonder I don't update on this. Great art, but nothing really to talk about.
Bleach - Crap. Crap. Mega crap.
Yeah I know I'm being unfair...I'm just really salty about how this is all wrapping up. Iba, Rukia, and Isane honestly don't seem qualified to be captains of their respective divisions. It seems as if Kubo is just being lazy and making the next highest ranked person in that division take over. No indication of who took over Squad 8...likely because there isn't anyone of importance that Kubo can use.
Still tons of loose ends that will never be addressed. Screw this shit, man. Ugh.
Nisekoi - It's not over right? It'll update next week? Please?
Seriously...I've been such a devoted fan of this manga, so seeing it end has been pretty hard. Overall, I thought the finale was well done. Raku becoming the new clan head is actually fitting. He didn't want anything to do with them initially, but we know how devoted he his to his bros, and we know from his feelings for Chitoge just how his initial feelings can change. The petting zoo animals were a nice touch.
The other characters were mostly well done I thought. Shu/Ruri is canon, Yui preggers, Tsugumi super sexy, and Marika being energetic again. Having her date Y-san was hilarious, and I give Komi massive props for that. Definitely didn't see that coming.
The best part of the finale, of course, was the new promise. It was fitting how everything came full circle in the end. But best of all, how Raku and Chitoge's relationship remained largely the same. They still tease each other, speak their mind, have fun, and still bicker like an old married couple. I would have liked to see their actual wedding, and a close-up kiss, but an engagement and a long-distance kiss suited the scene well I thought.
Overall...it was a great conclusion that left me mostly satisfied. There are things that could have been handled better, but after the Toradora parallels last time, I'm glad my worries were mostly misplaced. Seeing the OTP actually get together more than 10 seconds before the end, and to know they kept in contact over the time-skip, puts this ending miles ahead of that one for me. Oh, and Bleach of course. Nisekoi reads like freaking Shakespeare compared to that BS. *grumbles again*
I plan to re-read this manga soon, and let the ending digest for a while before giving it a final score, but I don't doubt this will go down as one of my favorite romance manga. Certainly not perfect, but the humor, romance, and overall cast of characters was very endearing to me, and the main pairing is easily one of my favorite fictional romances. Don't worry, hundreds of people reading this, my avatar/sig theme won't change anytime soon.
Finally...Jump cover this week has the entire cast of MCs. I usually love it when they do it...but this time I find it sad. This will likely be the last time Chitoge and Ichigo appear with the rest of the Jump stars.
Just gonna...walk around...for a bit...uguuu....
