It's definitely not launched toward the core Nintendo demographic. I'm pretty sure that's the intention. Despite the prizes you can earn, which I believe is earnable through NX games.

This app isn't going to show its true worth until millions of people are playing it. If you aren't connected with a long list of friends, it's not going to be as fun.

No offense. But the thread should be under "mobile discussion". This game isn't exclusive to Nintendo platforms.
