Forums - Nintendo - "Alleged" photo of NX controller "leaked": We might as well discuss this now

Anyone knows which game is on the screen? If we would know the name of the game we could maybe figure out if this is fake or maybe real ;)

lol I'm so done with these leaks, it's close enough where I can just wait for the real thing.

Looks like some benchmark with stone structures and pillars.

I really hope this is fake. It better have real buttons on it, and it better not look like that. If it does, then all I can say is good luck to Nintendo.

Thank, that's what I thought too ;) But it would be really important that we know the name of the game, because since it's probably really a fake, it must be a game that exists now! Maybe something from Halo 5: Guardians?

This means 1 thing: expensive gimmick included with every console, either jacking up the price or compensate with lower end hardware to keep price reasonable, also means thing is gonna prevent steep price cuts like the Wii U Gamepad.

it has to be fake.

Nintendo would never employ a touch screen for a console controller without giving you regular buttons on the face of the controller. Too many of their fans are old school and/or want to play the same way as they used to for games like Zelda, Smash, Mario, etc.

I don't buy that controller for a second. not only does it not look practical but it also looks ugly. Bear in mind Nintendo has been one of the stronger worded companies about why the 'full experiences' of their games would not work on smart phones, namely due to the shape and controls. they wouldn't essentially take a phone like device and throw on a few joysticks and call it good. don't buy it for a moment

I have to be honest, now. Reading this thread again, I wish this controller is the real deal. I'm sorry for all the non-believers, but now I really want it to be legit.

Why would any consumer apart from a diehard Nintendo fan by a Nintendo console over a PS4 though?

The only time Nintendo beat Playstation in a console race was when they came up with a wild card that up-ended the whole industry. Such things are not easy to come by and can't just be conjured up on demand, as evidenced by Wii U's failure.

Look again at what I whote before.. (Most handheld and homeconsole buyers look at what they get.. not what brand.. simple as that)

It may be hard for you to understand if you really like your ps4..  But it is posible to make a better console.. (and if you ask why I think you should see some console history on youtube.. and how every gen has evolved)

And actully.. :) They have been head to head 6 times.. 4 homeconsoles and 2 handheld gens.. Only talking the last 4 times.. (the only ones still selling) Nintendo won 3 and sony 1.

over and out..

Looking at consoles only which the NX probably is Nintendo lost 3 out of 4 gens by far. With 2 times losing very badly, sure the PS3 was a loss, but still sold 80 million units with if being the lowest selling PS console. Ironically it still outsold every other Nintendo console. Consoles and handhelds are completely different, one is dieing and the other is near death if not for pokemon, mario and monster hunter to keep it alive

Anyways statistically the NX needs to gain marketshare alongside a PS console. It's not impossible since the X360 did it. But there are only 2 proven ways to do it. Option one have better third party content and run third party games better. Now we all know third party support on Nintendo consoles are mediocre at best. So they are dependent on the wild card being innovative and attract a new audience which is glued to mobile and tablet games.

So with the lack of third party support it actually is possible to make a better console than a playstation. Or a better selling one at least  (xbox 360 was in many ways the best console 7th gen in my opinion). But it takes one hell of a lot of effort to pull it off especially when Sony doesn't do major fuck ups.

At this moment it doesn't seem like Sony makes those with the PS4, unlike the PS3 and Vita. PSP was a huge succes and outsold quite a few Nintendo handheld,  might even end up selling more than the 3DS. So how on earth is the NX going to compete with a console that has every bit of potential to reach 100 million + units.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
