Weirdly enough, the app is in English, so I don't see why not release it in America/Europe.
I think that the hook and strategy with Miitomo is that only by playing it you could get discounts on games. So, play Miitomo, answers some questions, ask your friends and get discounts on proper games.

True, but it's still a bit early to say anything.
They were doing this out of pressure from their stock holders that wanted them to go mobile.
I think secretly it's Nintendo's plan/hope, that these apps don't succeed so they can continue making their own system without the constant bitching for them to go third party.
Yeah, I lied. After seeing actual gameplay (it's obviously a game once you see it in motion) and seeing how it works with My Nintendo, the way they plan on marketing this game makes complete and total sense now. This is going to be huge. You can tell just by watching it.
| Volterra_90 said: Wow, rewards are better than I expected. So that LoZ:TP Picross rumour was true? It'll be my first purchase, I'm sure of that. So, each game gives you about 80 Gold Points. With 3/4 games purchased, you could buy a free one by My Nintendo (for example, Tropical Freeze or Super Luigi U). Seems good to me. Way, way better than Club Nintendo. By miles. |
Tropical Freeze isn't on that list. You're looking at the Wii game.

Yeah, you're right! I saw WiiU in brackets and I made a mental connection. Not bad nevertheless.
After reading a little and seeing some YT, I think this really make sense. We'll see if it's successful, but I really think it could be a hit. And I don't say this about Nintendo everyday :P. And the way it works with MyNintendo is just great. I really think MyNintendo + NX will be a great combo. I'm excited about that.

If you look at the app pictures, it looks like there are mini-games in the app, too. Like actual games with win-states and fail states and an objective.
Look:

And My Nintendo lets you get Miitomo "Game Tickets." Since there's other Miis in the game presented here, that means the focus is on multiplayer.
Meaning my thread from last year that made the EXACT day that Nintendo announced they were going mobile was literally spot on. I literally predicted pretty much exactly what kind of game Miitomo was going to be, what its purpose would be in incentivising people to get My Nintendo, and how it was going to be used to spread the Nintendo brand.
When everyone was whining about how it was a Mii thing and didn't look like a game, I specifically said that I was sure from looking at it that it would work like Mii Plaza minigames with a social app tying it all together.
People aren't giving this this credit it deserves. This isn't just going to be a hit. It's going to take over the world when it's out. All Nintendo needs to do now is release some actual ads for it now that its out, but this shit is about to be the next Snapchat. That big. As soon as people start connecting with friends, it's going to be a wrap.

I totally agree. I think the app is spot on and will be massively sucessful. It mixes Snapchat, with ask.fm (which is huge in my country, not sure about the others), with minigames, with social connection, with Tomodachi Life (I guess Miitomo name comes for there, and I'm not sure why I don't think about it previously xDD). Also I'm excited about how the other games will work with MyNintendo too. I mean, they'll give you Platinum Coins for acomplishing certain objectives in-game. Once they start to connect new games with MyNintendo, with a reward system which is actually meaningful, in the sense that you could buy digital content with those coins... Just wait until people start adding friends and this will become viral. I'm 99% sure about that. Miitomo and MyNintendo might not get the attention now, but it'll be huge. Just wait until it spreads over the world.
