I think VR will be a bigger hit than some realize. It's the biggest "wow" thing to happen to gaming that you can show to a person in just 5-10 seconds of experiencing it and not have to say any more than that since probably the Wii.

I could see that happening a mile away and now the price point has been announced and the lists thrown up with some retail stock information, I fully expect constant years worth of downplaying for Vive and OR, hell anything PC VR related is going to get stomped on, especially on here.

The PSVR is actually better in quality than the ORift imo. It supports up to 120HZ refresh rate ORift only 90Hz, so you cant say one is better than the other if it has specs who are below PSVR. What Sony said themselfs was actually wrong.
Its common fact that a Hardware company can produce cheaper and better quality Hardware than a software/webbrows company, ORift was funded with Kickstarter too. VR devices have also a lot of Optical things in it, which Sony is known with making Cameras etc.

Slightly off topic, but I'm starting to notice, despite the fact that info has now been spreading across the net we are seeing a rise in PSVR threads akin to talking about a single sole peripheral in the same way we saw plenty of NX threads and with a list of 50 supposed PSVR games I imagine we'll be seeing a single thread for each and every game along with a thread for specs of said game, some special segment of the headset, you get the idea. I'm thinking at this point it's only fair that a megathread is created just for PSVR or the number of threads gets toned down a but because I honestly don't see it begin fair to constantly spam PSVR threads daily now but not for NX (because of the recent rules against it).

Im pretty sure that many people will be happy playing Wii looking (Judging from that Social Game) and High Res PS3 looking (Since pretty much most of the games that hit 60FPS on PS4 is pretty much remasters or games thats not too advanced) games on their PSVR unit. And this isnt me saying this trolling or flaming, its just impossible for a Console to get more powerful. This to me is like the Whole DX12 secret sauce thing the X1 fans used to use. Yes Sony is wrong, because 1 spec is better on their platform therefor its up for debate which is the better quality product. Why they said it like this i dont know, maybe to not afraid the public of the price at the time. What ever PS4 will archieve every game in native 120Hz isnt in the same debate if the VR Headset istelf is better in quality than its competition. It certainly will be able to upscale the frames at 120Hz in every game which will help to decrease motion sickness.
Yes the Orift isnt as premium as you think, they charge 600$ because they have to. PSVR is mass market but doesnt change the fact that it can be on par with Orift in Built quality and performance hence why it has higher refresh rate than its competition and being cheaper as its mass produced by an Eletronics Company like Sony.
And with the Power, i wouldnt leave it if we will see a more powerfull PS4 which could improve the performance of VR titles and expand the VR libary or the VR Headset could be compatible with PS5 which could be BC with PS4/VR games and so on.
