Forums - Gaming - PSVR VS NX

which one you think is going to own Christmas 2016.

PSVR 124 45.26%

NX 130 47.45%

Kinect 20 7.30%

Total:274

Not sure the Playstation VR will be a big success considering it will be $400 US (Expecting $500-$600 AUD), kinda removes it from being accessible to the average gamer based purely on price.

NX might change things up a little, so many unknowns with this.

Kinect is dead, 3rd party's on the Xbox One generally don't even bother to support it anymore in games.

Let´s be serious for a second here. In no way will PS VR be able to outsell NX. I mean didn´t Sony themselves estimate year one to be a combined total of 3 million (including OR, Vive)? Even if Nintendo outdoes itself and creates the shittiest console ever they are bound to sell at least 3 million devices in its first 3 Months. Is this thread meant to create some artificially super low expectations for NX so people can can boast "at least it does better than xy"?
Here´s my current thesholds:
PS VR should sell at least 1,5 million in its first 12 months
NX should sell at least 7 million in its first 12 months

lower than that and I´ll consider the devices niche with benefit of the doubt for another 12 months. After that if they still didn´t gain any traction I´ll call them a failure (at least for that gen).

EDIT:Changed prediction as Ka-Pi made me realize that my memory was uterly flawed ><
switched from 2m to 1,5 and from 10 to 7 (PS3 first year)

Yup...RO friggin rocked

PSVR has FAD written all over it and will flop after the initial early adopters get their hands on it.

Here´s my current thesholds:
PS VR should sell at least 2 million in its first 12 months
NX should sell at least 10 million in its first 12 months

The Wii U failed to sell 3 million in its first 3 months...

You are right. The 3m threshold is higher than I thought (went with the ~10m in 1 year). So let us lower it to 2m. On that note the 12 Month prediction for "failure" will also be readjusted to 7m (that´s what PS3 did and it was called a failure back then). Also this is based on a single "standard" home console.

Yes! A battle between something we know vs something we don't know! lol

Honestly if I had to choose I'd say the NX as it's a completely new system.

PSVR would only be a good Christmas gift to those that already have a PS4 (unless they plan to get a PS4+PSVR as a present together which would be huge). But the NX can still be for everybody including those that own a PS4.

PS VR will sell more this holiday because NX sales will be at zero units sold since it obviously won't launch this year.

Not NX because it releases in 2017...

I'd honestly say the nx. Not because I expect it to be this super popular hundred million seller I just don't expect vr to catch on.

So far Playstation VR is looking much more interesting.
I am more hyped for Playstation VR than Nintendo NX.

Well it took the Wii U 36months to sell 10 million I could see PSVR break that so yes I think it indeed is possible for PSVR to do better than a Nintendo console.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
