I thought this was the main reason nearly all PS3 games are more expensive, but I may be completely wrong.

Wow.. raw cost of discs:

13c for DVD9

17c for Blu-ray

some retrailer is simply ripping off PS3-customers..

Sony charges more for per-unit license fees and production. Its that simple.

Its no disaster (not everywhere will be priced like this), but given the size of the title - its no bonus for Sony, thats for sure...

When DMC4 was priced higher on the PS3 than on the 360 it wasn't Sony's fault, it's probably the same thing here.

 If you do not have a console, and you want to play GTA IV. you are thinking of PS3/360 and are undecided, but then you see the game is £5 cheaper, and you can save a lot of money on the console, that £5 will help you decide a little bit.

Anyway, this is only a WHSmiths, and they are not a major retailer for games, so this barely matters

Most retailers are advertising both versions for £40 as far as I've seen.

But like Munkeh111 says, it's WHSmiths. Out of all the high street game retailers they are pretty low.
