That's a good policy to have, doing it when you actually can.

What you call special treatment... sounds like support. In the case of FFXI, not even exclusive.

It's special treatment because they were willing to go an extra mile and act hypocritically to port the game since they received a few bucks. They weren't for the port, they were to curry their favor...

If MS/Sony/Nintendo are willing to take financial risks or help make a project more profitable, a lot can get done. Its not hypocritical at all.

By the way, doing a little research you'll see SE wanted to bring FFXI to other platforms. OG Xbox and Wii were considerered but didn't happen for various reasons. So getting it on 360 probably didn't take much effort from MS if any.

Yes finally! Microsoft is using their "Windows" as an advantage on their Xbox Division.

Yes, it is, Sony, made this with Street Fighter V, allowing for PC, making all the Marketing, and helping with the Development, even so you said that this was a Something bad, that the game had to be Multiplataform, that Sony, don't had the right to do this, and so on.

Microsoft, was giving the Middle Finger for the biggest third party developer of Japan, was this for over 2 and Half years, and they still wonder why the Xbox One, don't sell on Japan ?.

Microsoft, is only doing this kind of move, because they are Behind, They will only have Pro to do this, soon enought they will have a Non-existent Install Base, the sales already started to Decline for Xbox One, 2 Concecutive months Xbox One, was Down YOY, on USA, while Playstation 4, was UP YOY, on every other country, even on USA, Xbox, will  not have a single exclusive to move the sales, will not have a VR Device to carry mommentum, will have another Fighter on the party, that is NX, so Microsoft, is looking foward for the ones that want to play Cod, with their friends but also like Halo, This will not bring much games for Xbox One, because Microsoft, isn't pushing it sales anymore, this will only make FFXIV, came for Xbox One.

all the games that have PS4/PC Crossplay, that are Non-exclusives, already are on Xbox, but without Cross-play with PS4, this can also prevent of happen what happened with Mortal Kombat X, on PC, that they stopped the Att, because don't had enought players.

Uhmm... no.

I didn't say SFV exclusivity was a bad move for Capcom, because I don't know the all the circumstances. I'm also reluctant to believe SFV needed Sony to release an incomplete game. But that's another discussion I don't want to have.

You've conjured up hostility that doesn't exist. SE still supports Xbox, they just didn't put FFXIV on Xbox.

I agree, companies tend to do fan service when they piss fans off (i.e. get behind). That's what made PS3 more desireable, desperation from Sony.

I can't respond to your comment on MKX because its poorly written, I don't understand what you're saying.

Wow before reading this thread I had no idea Xbone was a struggling console that doesn't get support from devs. I guess I am imagining all these great 3rd party games.

Nobody said anything of MS, but when Square said they didn't want their game in a platform without cross play and then exempted MS from that when they received a random paycheck, they seemed pretty hypocritical.

Guess why they didn't port it over to the Xbox. Also, Wii was a power thing and a lot of other problems they had with Nintendo over CC (not that CC)...

Oh wait... are you aware FFXI did have crossplay between PC, PS2, and 360? You've apparently held a grudge not knowing that.

The BIGGEST problem with OG Xbox was limited space (PS2 bundled HDD was 40GB vs Xbox 8GB). I don't know how FFXI would have performed on that console, maybe okay given it was a popular online platform.

Its simple mathematics.

Less support than PS4 = No Support

What's that? X1 has hundreds of 3rd party games? Sorry, but list wars give the impression you have nothing to play.

Well those "list wars" are about exclusives not about every game on the consoles so yeah the only impression we get from them that the exclusives games are more and more decreasing for the xbox one.

there is alslo no denying that the xbox one is lacking in nearly everything compared to the ps4:

third and first party games, japanese games and more and more games just releasing for ps4 and pc.

Edit: Can you show me some comments that claimed that the xbox one has NO support? I've never seen one would be shocking if it's not from a troll or alt account.
