By the way, doing a little research you'll see SE wanted to bring FFXI to other platforms. OG Xbox and Wii were considerered but didn't happen for various reasons. So getting it on 360 probably didn't take much effort from MS if any.

Nobody said anything of MS, but when Square said they didn't want their game in a platform without cross play and then exempted MS from that when they received a random paycheck, they seemed pretty hypocritical. 

Guess why they didn't port it over to the Xbox. Also, Wii was a power thing and a lot of other problems they had with Nintendo over CC (not that CC)... 

Oh wait... are you aware FFXI did have crossplay between PC, PS2, and 360? You've apparently held a grudge not knowing that.

The BIGGEST problem with OG Xbox was limited space (PS2 bundled HDD was 40GB vs Xbox 8GB). I don't know how FFXI would have performed on that console, maybe okay given it was a popular online platform.
