So, everyone predicted over?

Around the Network

I'd buy the game if there were more fighters. Theres like what, 10-12? With over 700 Pokemon you could easily make a badass roster with Pokemon like Hitmonlee/Hitmonchan/Hitmontop, Octillery, the 2 karate Pokemon from B/W, Hariyama, Gurrdurr, Pangoro, Medicham, Emboar, and many many more would be awesome!

I predicted a 79, I guess I was a off the mark, but the reviews were pretty much what I expected. Solid gameplay, lacking in content and fighters. Basically a SFV case, so I think that they'll be more or less the same score in the end. I know what I'm buying so this doesn't really change my thoughts about buying it.+

I hope that if the game is a sucess comercially, they'll make some free DLC fighters or modes. If not, it could be the beginning of an fighter franchise with a promising future ahead. I think we should get used to reviews this gen being far more harsh with games this gen than the previous one. I don't think it has nothing to do with game's quality, it's just that gaming journalism is not now on a 5-10 score as before, 5 being utter shit.

Also, a 9/10 from GameSpot? What's going on? I guess the single player must be easy! XDDD

Urgh for me honestly it would have to be above 85 to buy at right now, if there wasn't so many other games coming out then id settle for it but we're spoilt.

You actually buy games based on scores?

Yeah that's why I'm still okay with buying this game and enjoying it as is. The next one will surely have more content now that they've got the concept down.

Yeah, basically. I think it's a bit dumb not buying a game based on score, but you could think about buying a game based on reviews. And I mean the text, not the score. You have to know why they deducted points for the game, and the general consensus is "lack of content". I'm happy to read that the servers work fine (let's see on the launch day how it goes) and the gameplay is solid. We must acknowledge that this is a new IP, fighters were made from zero, so I think it's more forgiving. If Pokkén 2 is released someday, I expect them to improve this, they already have the moveset for 16 Pokémon, and they could work on more of them.

looks a pretty similar situation to SFV. The meta will probably drop a little further as reviews come out. Not bad but not great either.

There is 16 playable and 30 support in pairs of 2.

No shade but lol at all the people who vouched for an 80-85 score and now it's in the mid 70s. I knew it's gonna get comparable reviews to SFV :P hopefully the sales will be better

"Pokkén Tournament’s difficulty level is probably the biggest problem it has, and in the course of the single-player game I went 68 games before my first loss, beyond the occasional over-powered appearances of boss character Shadow Mewtwo. In the scheme of things it wasn’t until I reached the fourth league that there was anything remotely like a challenge, and I finally had to think tactically, using my abilities and attacks at the right moments."

"The game’s ease was even more apparent when my four-year-old son merrily played single battles, and generally came out on top, despite not once blocking or using a Synergy Attack as his hands are too small to reach the shoulder buttons. However, he absolutely loved it, and if anything it’s perhaps best to view the single-player game as being aimed squarely at children, or as an overly long tutorial to prepare you for fighting online or in local multiplayer."

Wow, this is something major that should be patched.

Also, 16 characters is way too low for a full priced game. Especially when the Pokemon roster is so big.

To me the most dissapointing thing about this game is the roster. It could have been huge. RIP Heracross Greninja and Scizor.
