Forums - Nintendo - What 3rd party developer is supporting the wii the most?

Capcom (mostly ports) : RE4 (superior gc/ps  port), Okami (superior ps port), Monster Hunter 3, Zack and Wiki, and Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, 2 Light Gun Games (retro 90's arcade ports)

EA : Godfather Blackhand Edition (definitive version , although a ps port, it's VERY well done), Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Boom Blox

Konami : PES2008, published MLB Power Pro's in NA, finally brought a "proper" DDR game to a Nintendo console.

Sega : Not just for new support, but major VC support as well.

Ubisoft : published No More Heroes in NA, and did have good Launch Titles (RRR, RS, Elebits, and yes I know I'm streching here...)

Rockstar : Bully (from what I understand the definitive version, though not selling), Manhunt 2 (though it was a poor game it sold the best on the Wii), and Table Tennis (though it suffered from REALLY shoddy controls)

Though it was multiplat, at least Activison had the sense to bring GH3 to the Wii, unlike Ea w/ Rockband 10 months late. Rockband is only coming because GH3 did so well. Now EA wants an easy cash-in (shocker i know). Sadly this seems to be the theme on this entire list except for NMH, PES2008, Z&W, & Boom Blox.

But much better days are on the horizon...

@Words of Wisdom, your post is boardering on trolling, but more importantly, they are making me angry. You don't see me wandering around the Sony forum laughing about some PS3 flaw in every post I make. I have seen MANY posts about your anti-Wii based on 3rd party support jabs, and they are getting old. Stop jumping on every anti-Wii bandwagon post you can get your grubby little PS3 fanboy hands on, please.

@Griffin. Capcom has done Zack and Wiki, as well as Monster Hunter 3, and Umbrella Chronicles as all new Wii games. Now, surely you knew that. For someone who hates on the Wii in every post, you sure are ignorant about it. How bout you jump in my "Why do you hate the Wii" post and reply to my "Griffin is a stinking brandbased anti-nintendo, pro Sony fanboy" post near the end, if you have the gall to actually debate me to the contrary.

It gets in my craw that most of the real Wii hate on this site comes from Sony fanboys who are pissed off because Sony threw its lead this generation due to manigerial incompitance. Why don't you hate on Sony because of that, instead of focusing your every post on Nintendo in some facadical attempt to "undermine the systems poplarity online" one post at a time. Loyal till the end, even when your general jumped ship because your president is a retard.

You should hate Nintendo not because of their "3rd party support" which honestly if it wasn't that, it would be something else to bandwagon jump onto. You should hate Nintendo because of their brilliant marketing campaign, innovative thinking, and excellent software development. They are what owned Sony this generation, not casual gamers, they were only pawns in the plan.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

Hudson is putting most of its effort in Wii and DS so I am not sure what you are talking about.

Yep!... Capcom, for obvious reasons!

And special thanks to Sega for putting their older games on VC!...

Ohyeah... EA, Konami and Rockstar are note-worthy:

EA (SSX: Blur, The Godfather: Blackhand edition... Both great games!).

Rockstar (Finally supporting a Nintendo-console, despite weak sales: Table tennis, Bully, Manhunt 2).

Konami (New Flight-game by Ace Combat devs, Dewy, Elebits...)

When Rockstar gives the Wii a GTA, then I'll consider themgood Wii publishers :P...

OT: I would say Capcom/Sega....Not EA though, they make games on everything....

During the first few months of the Wii's life, I would've said Ubisoft was giving the console great support, while Capcom was pretty much ignoring it.

After a year it turns out Capcom has given us many high quality ports, several decent exclusive, as well as the first announced third party AAA exclusive, while Ubisoft has put virtually all of their efforts on the HD consoles.

So yeah, the third party publisher to support the Wii the most is definitely Capcom. Sega comes pretty close, but nobody cares about Sega these days.

Capcom, Sega and Ubisoft. Ubisoft has put out some crap but also some goodies like Rayman Raving Rabbids. Also, I have a feeling Red Steel 2 is going to be really good.

Capcom is over rated, their support can hardly be considered the largest or best support for the Wii. Capcom simply ported a couple old games and released a single new one based on an old game. As far as the future yes Capcom looks promising as a third party contributer but I would hardly classify them with the likes of UbiSoft and Sega!

My list is in two parts , the first part is the largest amount of support that I see!
1)UbiSoft
2)Sega
3)EAgames

My list which publishers are contributing the most to the Wii as a viable next gen system!
1)Sega
2)UbiSoft
3)Konami/Hudson

For those who don't know Hudson is a subsidiary of Konami and their for all of their software is technically from the same company. If you consider the contributions Konami/Hudson have made opposed to that of a company like Capcom their really isn't much of a contest. i mean her Hudson/Konami are producing origional IP's and using existing Nintendo properties (MarioParty8) to expand the Wii's market space and the industry in general!

While other companies really are just shooting out the same old junk with adapted controls! Not investing in new graphics/physics engines or in creating new innovative properties! In the end its the companies that are creating new IP's and supporting the Wii hardware to the fullest that should be seen as Nintendo Wii's largest third party contributer!

Zack and Wiki isn't a port by Capcom. Also those dimissing Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles as a crappy light gun game with the Resident Evil name obviously have never played it. I agree with Konami/ Hudson. Ea is well Ea and put out the same stuff every year for every system pretty much.

You guys need to stop hating on EA's Wii support. It's among the best. Not only are they putting many high profile franchises on the Wii, but they're actually using the motion controls well, and were among the first to get how to develop Wii games properly.

The Godfather Blackhand Edition was the definitive version of a game that also saw release on PS2 and PS3. Yes EA supported Wii better than PS3 with The Godfather. It used good motion controls to simulate brawling, and was praised for it. Wii is also getting the sequel when it comes out in 08 or 09.

Boom Blox is just an exciting release that is coming off the visionary mind of a legendary film director and going Wii exclusive. It's using not only the motion controls well, but it'll be the first console release to support head tracking as a hidden bonus for those in the know.

Medal of Honor Heroes 2, while being a PSP port still managed to do two things right despite it's shortcomings as a game. They learned from Nintendo's Retro team on how to make proper FPS controls instead of going the lazy route of every other developer that plopped an FPS on the console. The controls were almost unanimously said to actually be an improvement over Metroid Prime 3, which is a feat unto itself. Also EA decided to use their own online which is a welcome change to the infinite friend code system Nintendo loves sticking us with.

There were also games that had noteworthy efforts made towards implementing motion controls effectively that weren't so groundbreaking, but still a fun change of pace from the norm, like Madden 07-08, SSX Blur and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07-08, My Sims and Ninja Reflex.

This doesn't in any way excuse EA from the Rock Band debacle, as I'm absolutely furious at all parties involved concerning that. I just thought a little more respect should go to EA, whom have given a very valiant effort since the Wii's first days on changing their games around to play towards the Wii's strengths and also by giving the support of their largest franchises and some new IPs while never questioning the Wii's position in the console race. In other words, even though many analysts and developers thought the Wii would fail, EA still put solid support behind them and that's something most developers will never be able to say.
