I'm pretty sure a lot of those stats are false, according the the most recent fiscal report, Wii U has between 98-147 retail releases depending on region as of Dec 31, 2015.

Watch the Shokio vid. He explains how he made that list.

Seems like a very stupid criteria, games like the Wii Series or Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival aren't included for being "casual".

Edit: also the Just Dance series, various Lego games, Mario Tennis are all excluded as well. Basically his criteria is, "if I don't like it than it doesn't count".

By the way, he should include 2012 games too! :o

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Thanks Lipe!!!

But regardless of random criteria, the Wii U retail output has been awful and is the reason why Nintendo needs to fully unify their handheld and consoles. If u were to combine the software of Wii U & 3DS than it becomes a very solid release schedule.

And 3rd party support is also VERY important. I hope they strike good deals with the NX so developers take the console into consideration when releasing their games.

Well 3DS still gets solid Japanese support, both have solid indie support and both have solid support of kid/family titles, they are missing the AAA western market, I don't ever expect them to get equal support as PS/XB but if they can get similar western support that Wii U had in its first year than I think that would be enough when we add in what I listed above along with Nintendo's full support.

Not that I'd ever deny the Wii U's software output being poor...but I have tough time with this guy's numbers. Seems like 70% of my Wii U library is being dismissed because reasons.

Oh well...guess I'll get back to playing my not-games.

Yep, that's exactly how I feel about it, like why would he even consider not including a Mario Party or Kirby game?? Those have been Nintendo mainstays.

I, for one, have quite enjoyed and gotten my money's worth from the Wii U and I still have more games to buy.

The game droughts on Wii U are totally unacceptable, and perhaps the single biggest problem with the system.

If I had to name one reason why I'm not planning to get an NX, it's that after the last 5 years, I no longer trust Nintendo to supply an adequate stream of software, and I am not spending hundreds of dollars on another system that gets like 5-6 worthwhile games per year.

All that said, no, it's not the worst Nintendo system. That dubious honour still goes to the Gamecube.
