Forums - Nintendo Discussion - No motion controls for Zelda: Twilight Princess HD SAVED the HD remake version.

Nint talking, not Andrew: Most Zelda fans out there LOVE using regular proper controls for our Zelda games. No failed-innovative crappy motion controls! This was THE REASON I didn't play Twilight Princess in the first place! I was so interested in playing until but when I heard about the little kid motion controls... I knew it was just as crappy as Skyward Sword so I layed off. the real proper version (Gamecube) was discontinued so I didn't bother with Twilight Princess. NOW with proper controller controls is MUCH BETTER and I GAVE NINTENDO MY MONEY! They actually listened and realized their idea was stupid. This is how business is done for gaming. You make millions of fans happy and they'll give you their money. So Nintendo please, no stupid "innovative" gimmick for NX okay? I swear if you make "All new fun camera motion censor! screw the miimote! play Zelda like never before! Yes I know we screwed up on the DS with crappy touchscreen controls and Wii with crappy motion controls but this is brand new!" fuck no.... Save your company and stick with real controllers.

Andrew talking, not Nint:  I totally love playing a HD Zelda game with my Gamepad! Like wow! I recently beat Skyward Sword and the controls threw me off lol. But since I'm a dedicated Zelda gamer, I forced myself to beat the game! and in my opinion Skyward has the strongest story. I got so emotional at the end cutscenes lol. But I recently got Twilight Princess HD! and it feels so weird, yet NATURAL to play a home console Zelda game.  I heard such good reviews of Twilight Princess saying its the 2nd best Zelda game ever... But I finally got my hands on TP! and after a ten year long wait I can finally play it! lol. Well I hope this lasts me until Zelda U!  Currenty my top 3 Zelda games are Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker! Sky ward Sword could've been numer 1 but I had a very rough time playing it.But that's just my opinion lol. How is Twilight Princess for you right now???

I kinda wish the option for motion controls were in it. I liked the Wii version more than the GC version.

The key to not sucking with the motion controls is to NOT flail your arms all over the place like you're trying to swat a moving fly. Slow, steady, smooth, and patience wins the race, this is especially important in Skyward Sword.
Haven't bought TP HD yet, and I was kind of expecting no motion controls and I'll admit it was for the better since they were really just slapped on so that the Wii could have a Zelda game at launch that makes use of the motion controls in some fashion, rather than actually make the most of them like with Skyward Sword, (although to be fair this was 3 years before Wii Motion Plus so the technology wasn't quite there yet.)
I'll buy eventually when the time is right, and I know it'll be worth the purchase.

No GC controller support is absolute horse shit though...The sell a god damn adapter and the original game used it!

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It makes no sense that the GC controller isn't supported. The developers even said the base of the game was the GC version.

Well that was dumb.
Guess it's one game I don't need to get now.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I still haven't played SS out of protest. So, here's to the HD remake when I can finally give it a try!

Yup! So my choices were to either buy a Pro Controller, or use the Gamepad...Sorry Nintendo, I'm not spending $110 to play a remastered Gamecube game.

lol why are you missing out on the pro controller? Much more comfortable than the horrendous Gamepad. I use it for almost every Wii U game. I wish some wii games were compatible with it

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.
