Based on sales trends, there is little reason to believe RotTR would have sold 5 million on PS4. Unless you anticipated a mass bundling?

SFV couldn't even achieve the lowest sales expecations. So assumptions aren't a guarantee.

Atleast 3 Millions with PS4+ PC(without Xbox Numbers) was guaranteed if it launched last year.

Maybe, but again, Just an assumption.

People also thought SFV was going to do amazing numbers by being exclusive.

Street Fighter V had a broken launch and even so still have the chances of Out-selling the previous game until the end of the year.

And all the Predictions was regarding the Life-time sales because Street Fighter V will receive a 5+ Years support without any other version other than this.

The game has been out for months and is still and underwhelming product. I mean do you think critics are ready to give it a great score?

Legs aren't good thus far, so those chances are slim.

Thus far ? the game had a bad launch with lack of Content and the game launched 3 Months ago in  1.5 Months shipped 1.4 Millions of Units now of course it already sold 1.5+ Millions.

They need 1.5+ Millions of units until the end of December to surpass the Last Game's sales they still have a lot of updates to do Capcom's Pro Tour and the Holidays.

The Bad Launch was Capcom's Fault, you need to chose if the game had a Great Launch with no Legs or if the game had a Bad launch with good legs.

If TR would have sold 5 million last year on PS4 even among titles like Blops 3 and Fallout, then there's no reason to assume it wouldn't sell that much this year when it releases on PS4. There will be more consoles now than then, and probably no games out as big as those other two on PS4. You might have some bitter people not buying it because it's "tainted" by the Xbox deal but those people are an extreme minority.

So basically Square got paid some sum of money to postpone what were always going to be great sales on the PS4 version. Capcom got paid some sum of money to never get any sales from the Xbox version. Capcom made other mistakes outside of the exclusive deal that contributed to lower than expected sales. In the end we will never have the slightest idea of who made off better but it's hard not to logically assume it is Square, they still have a large payday coming when they release the PS4 version.

Nope... there are people that may not buy it because it's already outdated being 1 year later to the market and to make it worse, several months after people got their Uncharted fix.

Outdated? Its still gonna be a great game this holiday and frankly its not the same experience as Uncharted.

You know what's funny, we see people boasting about how great Tomb Raider DE did on PS4 even though that was a remaster of 7th gen game. We also see people saying RotTR won't do great because its a year late.

Based on trends, I think RotTR is gonna do fine on PS4. In fact, I'm gonna make another thread...

There is every reason to believe.

Tomb Raider 2013 PS4: 1.37m

Tomb raider 2013 X1: 0.58m

It outsold it by a whopping ratio of 2.4:1

It would have certainly sold better on PS4, but 5 million? Your prediction isn't realistic looking at sales trends. I mean what PS4 game is at 5 million while the X1 version is under 2 million?

Your example shows you don't do much research.

I did.  I compared the previous tomb raider sales on ps4 and XB1.

Not that I disagree with you but as a ps4 owner I'm glad it worked out the way it did so I have the option of both games instead of just one.

You think the ratio the same, but its not. People could have assumed SFV was gonna do amazing numbers based on MKX, but it didn't happen.

It would have certainly sold better on PS4, but not 5 million based on trends of many other games.

Bottom line, its still going to sell very well on PS4. If people were willing to buy a remaster of Tomb Raider DE, many more will buy RotTR on PS4. But how is SFV gonna do on X1? ZERO.

You assume that but you forget TR is much more popular on Playstation and it was very highly rated so if a ps4 release was coming it definitely would have been very hyped.  4m minimum.  Bottom line is it would have sold waaaaaaaay more on ps4. SFV would have sold waaaaaaay less on XB1.

ROTTR sales might be good on Ps4 this year but definitely won't be anywhere near what they would have been.  And the fact we've gotten the game of the gen so far last week and it's the same genre won't help at all.
