Forums - Gaming - X-box One Elite at E3?

Say we see an X-box One E (elite) announced at e3 for $399-499. Offers 50% faster chips, more/better ram, etc with end output being games at  consistant 60 frames and 1080p with higher quality assets (superior to PS4 by +/-50% in overall power/performance).  Would you buy one ? Opinions on potential market impact?

Also  it's 100% Oculous and Vive compatible.

I want MS to release another Elite console as well, only this time a white one like the Sunset Overdrive one. As for those extras from 50% faster chips to power/performance along with that last line: No! all of those are really unnecessary. Just do a white version of the Elite console but this time it should be about $449. It should still sell well, just look at Amazon, for example, the Elite is charting in the top 100.

Proud to be a Californian.

What good is that competitive wise if they're still lacking in the game department? Fix that first then I see a good reason to release an "XB1 Elite"

Uhmm... I have a X1 and PS4. I've have had significantly more fun with the X1 exclusives.

Perhaps youre a Bloodborne fan?

I'm gonna play devil's advocate. I would buy a PS4-2 for $400-500 if the specs were there to brute force emulate the ps3, and better run ps vr.

There are xbox people that would do the same (ludicrous speed, snoopy, puggsly, etc are perfect examples on this site alone).

A beefed up X1 shouldnt be more expensive and it needs to replace the current model. Doing it any other way would confuse or upset the market. Better specs might not be significantly more expensive for MS.

Also, launch it next holiday. 4 years into a gen feels reasonable.

Idk man. A beefed up xb1 for 299 would cause buyer remorse and purchase apprehension.

so wait.... people actually think an upgradeable Xbox can exist this gen?????

Speaking architecturally, dies anyone know how impossible this is?

MS is using DDR3 RAM primarily. I'll say no more.

Obviously YOU are in the minority judging by sales for both hardware and software lol. What exclusives are you enjoying exactly besides Halo and Forza? That is all that has been released in the past 14 months unless you are counting 360 games, indies and ports? If that is the case than the PS4 has way more games to offer. So what point are you trying to make? t is a fact that the Xbox lacks exclusive games regardless of how much you enjoy the few, which was the point of that comment. There is much more on PS4 than Bloodborne. Try again.

Well some would feel that way. But as long as all games are compatible with the old specs as well (maybe lower res and FPS), I think things would be fine.

People compared this to Sega Genesis, but the problem with the add ons for those games is they were expensive add ons and required to access new games.

New 3DS is a smarter approach. Some games benefit from the superior specs but still play fine on the old specs. Xenoblade being the only exception.

Doesn't matter much. Sony has all the games and big partnerships this gen. Microsoft is better off waiting for next gen at this point.

Weak argument is weak.

Between Halo 5, Halo MCC (has unique content not on 360), Forza 6, Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive, Dead Rising 3, Titanfall, Killer Instinct and Rise of the Tomb Raider (PS4 owners can play it eventually), I've been very content with what it offers exclusivesly. The list of upcoming X1 games also looks promising.

The games I've really enjoyed on PS4 are... Infamous:SS, SFV and the hour of Until Dawn I've played so far. I want Uncharted 4 but that keeps getting delayed.

Bottom line, X1 has done a fine job appealing to me and those same games would be successful on PS4.
