The biggest supporter of the WIi and Wiiu, Ubisoft, requires Nintendo to fund a game for NX, and this translates to willingness to get Western AAA support?

Crickey...

As long as I know it would be the first time Nintendo were funding a Western AAA game, so I think that fits the definition, yeah. And even if Ubisoft supported Wii/WiiU (with some shitty ports for the WiiU, everything must be said), it's far from stellar compared to a game like a sequel to BG&E. Don't you see this as a step forward?

I see it as a positive step, not some holy grail that is going to change that face of the earth for Nintendo.

Oh, I didn't know that I painted this as if was some kind of holy grail. But if they follow this example, it will be a change on Nintendo's bussiness. If it's an isolated case, no. But it's obviously something Nintendo hasn't done yet. So it's a change. And it's a positive one.

Huh, well, that's not as exciting as Bayonetta 2, I haven't played the first yet but if this is true, I'll make sure to keep an eye on it.

If this is true, I hope a PC version still exists

Looking at Bayo2 and W101, that isn't likely.

Yes, but Bayonetta 1 has never been on PC contrary to BG&E 1.

Then I apologise if my words came across the wrong way. I do think there are better things Nintendo can do with their money, but this is defintiely something that will give the NX a slightly different appeal, even if possibly only a small one.

Don't worry ;). I think that would be my approach, I'm not sure what they'll do in the end. We'll know about it next year, and what will be their approach and their business decisions.

This rumor is as fake as hell. Why should Nintendo found the sequel to a game that was a financial failure? This is nonsense. Not gonna happen.

Well, I think if one company was to fund Beyond Good and Evil 2, is Nintendo. They've already fund Bayonetta when it was not an astonishing sucess, and Beyond Good and Evil has grown in popularity with time, so I don't think it's nonsense.

With this in mind, if this turns out to be true, Nintendo has a very serious problem with leaks. Forums are already crowded with leaks, and some of them have proven to be true.

But funding Bayonetta turned out to be a poor move on Nintendo's part. Bayonetta might have broke even or made a small profit, but it certainly didn't make any noticable impact on Wii U sales. Is Beyond Good and Evil 2 really going to do anything to improve Nintendo's current situation?

An abandoned JRPG franchise would be better to fund, I'm sure of that. Like Xenosaga, who owns the IP? What happened with the Xenosaga HD rumours?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

This is not a short term situation, and it's not a matter of sales, it's a matter of diversifying the Nintendo ecosystem and making it more attractive to more people, making your brand stronger. It maybe doesn't affect the console sales on the short term, but it kinda brings more attention to the Nintendo ecosystem, and I think that's very, very important if they want to succeed.
