Of course. Not everyone owns a PS4 or is into PC gaming, so it should be a very nice option to play third party games at decent settings. Plus, it still has its own exclusives/timed exclusives.

I don't like Sony and PC gaming is too much of a hassle for me, so I'm still open to the possibility of getting an Xbox One.

This site's userbase revolves around Nintendo + Sony, Xbox and PC or Microsoft in general just get sidelined and thrown under the bus like crazy ...

Nah it wasn't to be offense I have just learned posting habits of a lot of uses from all sides NIN, Sony, MS etc adn yours seemed like a subtle version of those two lol. Not a bad rep at all there are some excellent Xbox fans on this site!

If you have a gaming PC one could argue there's really no reason to own any console. Unless, of course, you enjoy the perks of consoles over gaming on a PC. In which case nothing has changed. Not to mention, many of us are hardcore gamers and simply want to experience everything.

This is exciting stuff. It's funny seeing so much doom and gloom about it.

I think most in this thread are missing the point. Microsoft's goal is to render the console simply one more physical option for consuming a broadly available basket of games.

There are all sorts of reasons why they are going to struggle to do this. But if they succeed, the real question to be asking is going to be:

Who needs a PS4/5?

And I think you missed the question: Is there any reason to buy an Xbox?

 

Between Steam Machines and "PC Consoles" like the Standard Alienware Alpha, there's not much reason to have an Xbox. That is the question. Instead, we find a mod in here attempting to derail that.
