The Dreamcast didn't fall victim to the failures of the Saturn (or vice versa). But a quick announcement to launch, a below average launch lineup, the sense of desperation to get more powerful hardware on the market, these all connect NX to Saturn, and it failed horribly.

Nintendo is replasing litle sooner than usualy (around one year sooner, and we know last year on Nintendo console is barren) beasue is selling terible, not beacuse its weak hardware (Wii was weak hardware and Nintendo didn't being desperate to release more powerful hardware on market). So that's only reason nothing else.

Also Xbox had life span of 4 years and Xbox360 endend up selling 3x better.

NX will have great launch lineup (most likely new 3D Mario, Zelda U port and probably Pikmin 4), not average or below average.

A port and two games isn't an average launch? okay.... Also Xbox 360 had also had the benefit of being priced well, and straightforward from pc to console. If the PS3 wasn't ridiculously overpriced I doubt this would be a point to be made.

That's a bit... harsh?

Look at some wii games in Dolphin emulator. SSB Brawl or 2D/3D Mario.

Yeah, I saw some Mario Galaxy videos. It's not even close to 3DWorld.

Maintaining performance while streaming to two devices would probably make it a lot tougher than you'd think.

Streaming technology definitely was made and tested long before any Wii U game development. Don't forget that many Wii U games support streaming to TV and U pad without actual reasons (you can stream on both in MK8, Bayonetta 1-2, Hyrule Warriors, etc). It doesn't looks like it something problematically for developer to employ this feature.

But was it made and developed by Nintendo? For Christ sake they didn't know how long HD development would take in 2012!!! Just saying...

Miyamotoo,
>>Yes, because Wii U was their first HD console and they admitted they had big problems with HD development, they said they very underestimated HD development.
Bullshit. NSMBU, Splatoon, SSB 4, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World - all this games literally cartoonish "wii-tier" games with updated resolution and some details here and there. I can understand this excuse for Xeno X, but not for usual Nintendo games.

>>Also in same time with Wii U they were supporting totaly difrent platform, 3DS.
Capcom and Square Enix support the 3ds. Nintendo only made rushed titles for Wii U and 3ds last year.

>Miitomo is delayed for one quarter, you saying like its delayed for whole year, and there are indications that reason why actualy Miitomo was delayed is beacuse accouunt system and services (bouth are managed by DeNA) needed for Miitomo couldnt be finished in Q4 2015.
So where other mobile apps announcements?

-First you dont know what you talking about. Just making game in HD is totally different approach than making in SD. HD games require much more more times and resources than SD games, that is pure fact. And on Wii U we having Nintendo making their first HD games, they thought it won't be problem for them, but it was, they had huge problems, they underestimated HD development. That had huge effect on Wii U launch (Pikmin 3 supposed to be Wii U launch title) and 1st year lineup of games, and all other games require more development time than they thought.

Second, saying that "NSMBU, Splatoon, SSB 4, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World - all this games literally cartoonish "wii-tier" games with updated resolution and some details here and there" is pure BS.

-You saying Nintendo did not support 3DS this gen!? Because that's my point, they supported two totally different platforms that required that Nintendo split resources in order support those two platforms in same time.

-They said they will release 5 mobile games buy FY ending 31. March 2017, there is no real point to announce next mobile app when Miitomo still is not available on market.

So let's just pretend you're right and MK8 is just MKWii upscaled, what then is the reason for all the delays if HD development was not the problem?

Oh, nevermind then. Would you allowed Nintendo to excuse in 2017 "we wasn't really ready for fullHD NX development so please understand our shitty politics"?

If all games are 1080p 60fps shitty excuse away!!!

No, obviously. I understand that with the WiiU since it was the first step on HD development and they pretty much fucked it up. But now it's not a valid excuse, at least, not an excuse which works for me.

Ugh. These threads - be they "NX is coming in 2016" or "NX isn't coming in 2016" - need to die.

Unlike 3-6 months ago, there are a lot of leaks that suggest a 2016 launch is not out of the question, but they're still just leaks, and their validity is tenuous at best. There was also a leak about a Paper Mario game for Wii U and a statement from Miyamoto about Pikmin 4 being "close to completion". Lots of conflicting info.

If you can speak about this subject as though you're certain of what's happening, I can't take you seriously.
