If the Wii U is Dreamcast, then it looks like NX will be the Saturn.

Only if they done all same mistakes they done with Wii U, but all points they will not repeat mistakes they done with Wii U.

The Dreamcast didn't fall victim to the failures of the Saturn (or vice versa). But a quick announcement to launch, a below average launch lineup, the sense of desperation to get more powerful hardware on the market, these all connect NX to Saturn, and it failed horribly.

Don't you mean the other way around?

Nope, I meant it the way I said it.

Although we all want to get our hands on NX as soon as possible ( I know I do) I believe that it would be better for Nintendo to have a 2017 launch. I say this because when the console is released it will be doing so against 2 very established rivals with large libraries of games and the NX will need to have not only high quality launch games but a quantity of titles.
It takes time for 3rd parties to develop quality games people! They simply won't have had enough time to support the NX in the first 6-12 months of the consoles life if it releases this year. If the NX comes out and suffers early the mistakes of the Wii U will be repeated and all those Nintendo doom threads might actually be right for once.
Make no mistake, Nintendo has so very very much riding on the NX they need it to make a huge splash. The price we have to pay for this is the one we are currently paying - a extremely baron 2016 release schedule and no solid information about NX. I honestly doubt if you'll hear anything at all about it until E3 and while this may be pissing you off now rest assured this is a good thing.
Games these days take longer than ever to develop and people are getting more and more impatient. Good things come to those who wait. Nintendo wouldn't have wanted to be having to release NX so quickly when the Wii U was released and have always released their next console 5-6 years from the last one and this will be no different.

After Wii U I dont think Nintendo will release another console that they didn't prepare solid and without great launch and 1st year lineup.

Nintendo basically hinting new platform and NX from January 2013. and we didnt had not one Wii U big announcement that isn't small project, spinoff of port from E3 2014. That means they are focused on NX for quite time now.So if they really releasing NX this year (all point they doing that), they probably prepared ti good for 2016. launch.

So you are saying two months after Wii U launched they knew they were going to kill it? Lol, no.

Miyamotoo,
>>Yes, because Wii U was their first HD console and they admitted they had big problems with HD development, they said they very underestimated HD development.
Bullshit. NSMBU, Splatoon, SSB 4, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World - all this games literally cartoonish "wii-tier" games with updated resolution and some details here and there. I can understand this excuse for Xeno X, but not for usual Nintendo games.

>>Also in same time with Wii U they were supporting totaly difrent platform, 3DS.
Capcom and Square Enix support the 3ds. Nintendo only made rushed titles for Wii U and 3ds last year.

>Miitomo is delayed for one quarter, you saying like its delayed for whole year, and there are indications that reason why actualy Miitomo was delayed is beacuse accouunt system and services (bouth are managed by DeNA) needed for Miitomo couldnt be finished in Q4 2015.
So where other mobile apps announcements?

Nintendo is replasing litle sooner than usualy (around one year sooner, and we know last year on Nintendo console is barren) beasue is selling terible, not beacuse its weak hardware (Wii was weak hardware and Nintendo didn't being desperate to release more powerful hardware on market). So that's only reason nothing else.

Also Xbox had life span of 4 years and Xbox360 endend up selling 3x better.

NX will have great launch lineup (most likely new 3D Mario, Zelda U port and probably Pikmin 4), not average or below average.

Maintaining performance while streaming to two devices would probably make it a lot tougher than you'd think.

Of Course not, but they had some plans for new platform two months after Wii U launch. That isnt nothing unusual, Nintendo said they working on new console right after launch of last one.

Just. Wait. Until. E3.
