Forums - Microsoft - hololens gameplay revealed (New Conker game)

The backlash just seems uneeded but also quite stupid. The product is mean't as a developer tool for now, so these games obviously won't be the best. They've said 5 years till it makes it to the mass-consumer market, and that seems about right.

The character model definently needs improving, but people are way overreacting...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

I honestly think its more about the actual game play itself, than the character models (even if the conker one is pretty bad).

The gameplay "idea" or concept, is so flawed at most you ll get some shallow type of ninja fruit type game (mobile).

MS need to show a concept that looks like a actual game useing AR, so far Minecraft is the best they ve done with AR, and even that looked like it would be a nightmare to play with AR compaired to just useing a normal monitor.

It makes you want to ask, is this tech (which is cool) being used correctly?

and the answear imo is pretty clear, AR is a failour for gameing.

HA! Go to neogaf, you'll see otherwise: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1191850

The other 2 games are actually getting a pretty good stance, but people need to cut back on expectations. This is the first device of its kind out there, so people need to be realistic. This isn't mean't for the general public, as such gaming isn't a big thing for now. Microsoft is more concerned about making sure it has good developer tools, which from what I heard is true.

This is like the smartphone of 2007-2008. Taking very small babysteps... the tech will improve in time, but its not mean't for the general public's use (yet).

That Conker redesign is absolutely hideous, holy shit.

Looks dumb. To me hololens isn't meant for gaming. I want to be taken to a whole new world in a gaming have a rich story being told. I don't want to shoot aliens in my living room. I'm in my living all the time I don't want to continue to be there when I play games.

MS continues to invest heavily in HoloLense. Whether we like what we see or not. The point of these games is to show what is possible, get developers excited to try out the technology and encourge them to make the software that will make or break AR/VR.

Imagine a game like Phonix Wright except your in the game. Thats what that Fragment game seemed like to me.

Mystery type games like this i could see being enjoyable. If they can make the image project around the whole room like the Holodeck then that would be cool.

Thats VR, it changes the intire room to something else, that the game designers choose what is.

This is AR (so far):

Compair above to this : VR:

VR is so much futher ahead than AR is...

Yet youre ..ucking away with 2d shots

Ex Graphics Whore.

This is why I'm excited for VR and not AR for gaming.

Young Conker?

What next, Dr. Conker? Toon Conker?

-_-
