Eh, it gold old to me. I enjoyed it for a while but after a couple of years it's like... "Why". But It is a neat idea and definitely something different. Especially back in 2011. Man, it's been that long.

What is a Nintendo Zone and what does it do?

Yep. I always carry my 3ds around when going to/coming from work and I check it every day at home.

In my city the best place to get hits are the subway stations that interconnect different lines - there are only four of them in my city - as I need to pass through at least two of them every day (in the morning and in the evening), and they are always overcrowded so I always get a few hits.

Apart from that, there aren´t good spots for streetpass in my city. There´s a japanese district in downtown, it´s always full of people but most of them are tourists, not geeks or videogame fans.

Streetpass is pretty helpful in many games! In RPGs like shin megami tensei is a great way to recrute monsters, in Pokemon X/Y it allows me to get lots of caramels, and raise the level of my pokemon fast, in Animal Crossing I was able to complete several itens collections by buying them through streetpass visitors. Very helpful.

Now I actually feel more excited to visit new places to see if I can get different states and countries. The subway would be a good one. Especially in DC with all the crowds.

How does StreetPass work on games? Will the game have to be loaded in the cart slot and be in sleep mode?

also wanted to ask this, does the game needs to be in the cart slot?  hope someone can confirm.  I wanted to check if I could get those Pokemons via street pass without bringing and interchanging all my games.   I normally just set the street pass enabled on all of my games.

and I already have a few different states :)

I used to be. I had hundreds of visitors from across the country and somehow, some outside of the US. Used to carry my 3DS everywhere. I even finished about 10 of those puzzles. Then, about a year ago, I quit getting hits.

4th option in the poll for me.

You don´t need to keep the game loaded or even keep the game card in your 3ds. You just have to activate it when you start playing. Games will ask you for that at any given point or right at the start. Or you can just play and active it later on the game´s option menu.

When active, everytime you get a hit with someone that has the same game, your consoles will exchange and store that infomation. You can check it on the Notifications menu (green ones are streetpass notifications). You don´t have to use it right away, you can use it later.

Every game has its own rules about storage, though. Some games store 10 hits (like Street Fighter IV) others can store 99 hits (like Pokemon X).

I´m envious! Lucky americans and japaneses...... LOL

I get around 4 hits a day, but it varies a lot. The most I got on a single day (when commuting) was 15. I only get more than that  when my friends organize a MeetUp or during anime/manga/videogames conventions
