Forums - Nintendo - Pokemon Z could still be real

Oh, wow. Such wrongness.

Edit: in all seriousness though, while X & Y are by far my favorite Pokémon games, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire are by far my least favorite. So if by 6th generation we're counting remakes (which we should), it's home to the best and worst in my opinion... so in the end I'm not even sure if I'd say it's my favorite generation overall.

I thought ORAS was better, and the only reason I have slight faith in SM. Because there's improvement. And I don't even think ORAS is good, definately the worst remakes - just better than XY. Which isn't difficult.

Dats 4th gen yo.

Gen 4 is far and away the best.

...Anyway, I've been thinking about this, and if Sun and Moon have as few new Pokemon as I think it will, and Gen 7 lasts only one game like I think it will, and strongly ties Zygarde into the plot like I think it will, it will literally be exactly what I was saying Gen 6.5 would be - only difference being that GF are calling it a new gen when I'd consider it a half gen.

ESPECIALLY if there are no new starters.

My definition of gen 6.5 was a small roster of new pokemon (30-70) in a new region "far from Kalos" with a new story that somehow connects to the story started in Kalos and resolves the Zygarde, and may or may not include new starters. After this last game or games, the next gen, Gen "7" would start on the NX. Replace 6.5 with 7 and "7" with 8 and, as far as I can see, that's still likely what will happen, so I'm peachy.

In which case I'm 100% down with Sun and Moon. I don't really care how they catagorize these games/generations as long as 2017 starts with a fresh new Pokemon generation exclusive to and built specifically for NX. And especially as long as they don't restrict Gen 4 best gen to the growingly anchient 3DS hardware.

That being said, I remember how much worse BW looked compared to Pt/HGSS, so it's really anybody's guess on quality at this point. ORAS looks significantly better than XY for obvious reasons, so SM will probably follow suit, unless they pull a BW and go for an inferior art direction under the guise of differentiating.

Gen 4 remakes? I was thinking about those recently too. I'd be kinda surprised if they released for 3DS considering 3DS can still play the original gen 4 games so remakes for them aren't really needed. I can see them having a gen without remakes again like they did for the 5th and doing them later.

I'm think/hoping you're right. Thus far remakes have been once per hardware generation, unlike the Pokemon generations, so we should be safe. Thinking about Sinnoh on NXDS Wii U-level hardware gets me emotional.

Nope, there will be no Pokemon Z. The fact is Nintendo doesn't really need to release it, AS and OR serve as a decent update to the engine that was introduced in X and Y, with the advent of DLC and other stuff I think Nintendo gets they can't really use such a minor update as a solo game. The next time we see such a game would be on a new system.

Honestly I always hated the third versions, and I bought ever mainline Pokemon game released. I would rather they put the time and effort into the original released. Good riddance that they are ending (somewhat, hopefully) the practice.

What about Black 2 and White 2?

I don't mind sequels. Just don't revise the same game. Yellow was a unique case as well, because it was very different from the other versions.

That's a weird way to spell far and away the worst piece of shit ever made in the history of mankind.

Edit: in all seriousness though, I am now sure this discussion won't get us anywhere. Throughout my life, I've met quite a few gen 4 fans, and with no exceptions I've always found that it's impossible to argue with them.

That's because there's not much to argue against. DP had slowdowns during battle that were fixed in Pt, and some people may have been preferentially turned off by Cyrus' architype even though he is a better written character than anyother main villian. Everything else is better that hasn't been mechanically improved in later generations.
