What if we're talking about pre-HL2 Gordon Freeman, then he's in the shit well and truly!
Also, It's James Bond for gods sake, what life or death situation has he never gotten out of! Gordon Freeman is nothing!
One more also! I came up with this pun whilst making a hot chocolate in between posts that I was proud of:
00Pwnt.
... I thought it was good ...

Release it on WiiWare and XBLA as a revised game with updated graphics and online support. Cross platform onlien would be could but dreaming lol |

Nah. They'd have to gimp the wiimote to make crossplatform play fair.

lol, thats it
360 users would own all the leaderboards, the wii-mote users would be crushed by the druken frat boys

I am sure they have a price, everyone does it si business, but Microsoft obvisouly thinks it is too high. They probably offerd Goldeneye for the VC in exchange for the new one going ot XBLA. Nintendo said no and probably demanded the game for Wiiware. Rare would have to reprogramm the whole game so no way they were going to do that. They probably counted with some cash and maybe rights to a crappy game or two for the VC like Glover. Nintendo does not need money but does want good games. What I think is that if MS wants to get this done they need to offer Nintendo the rights to release the entire N64 Rare catalog on the VC. MS could make some money and they would get their classic shooter and Nintendo could get a bevy of classics to release. Maybe I just like the idea of getting Blast Core on the VC. |
Blast Corps just hasn't aged at all, it is just as much fun now as it was then. I would definately purchase it for VC, it would be the only game I have on both consoles. (I had F-Zero Xfor N64 but I sold it, now I have it on VC)

| superchunk said: I think they should both put out a Golden Eye game at the same time. MS could redo what they want to enhance it for Live. Nintendo could put it out in its original form on the VC. Both would be happy, both would have similar but distinctly different games, and both would appeal directly to their main userbase with an awesome game. |
No they wouldnt and thats likely WHY Nintendo isnt playing ball.
A 007 release on VC unchanged while a 360 XBLA version releases at the same time with online leaderboards voicechat DLC extra maps updated textures running at higher resolution with added achievements etc is
NOT AN EVEN TRADE
Its not even REMOTELY close to even, and I have no idea why people keep acting like it is. From a gamers standpoint I can see your angle, but from a business perspective, it would be absolutely stupid for them to agree to that. And at the end of the day, gaming is a business, period.

It's not a matter of my being 'unwilling to change' because that's simply not true. Goldeneye is a timeless classic and I'd recommend anyone to play it over Crysis, Killzone, Halflife, Halo, or any other hypefest FPS titles because it still remains such fun to play today (Gotta love N64 emus with N64<>USB adaptors!) in both single and multiplayer. You mention Perfect Dark which is definitely the subject of heated debate, but take that into perspective, if there is an FPS better than Goldeneye, it's only one of Rare's / Free Radical's own efforts: Perfect Dark or Timesplitters. And shame on you for liking one of the EA 007 titles more than Goldeneye! |
I agree with ChronotriggerJM on Perfect Dark being better than Goldeneye. That game is the reason Perfect Dark Zero was such a dissapointment. I also agree that the 007 in question was fun as hell. The grappling hooks added a whole new dimension to the gameplay, and it was fun to decapitate people with Oddjobs hat.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

| MrMarc said: It annoys me when people talk about gameplay standards today when quite frankly Goldeneye still pisses on every FPS that gets released. It hasn't aged badly at all and if anything, it shows how bland alot of FPS efforts these days are in comparison. 2 generations have passed and an 11 year old 'dated and badly aged' game still plays far better than anything we've seen yet. |
I would say that Perfect Dark is better, but I consider them to be basically the same game.
(This post is limited to console FPS's only, by the way - thanks to rocketpig reminding me about Mr. Freeman)

| ctk495 said: It also means that we are totally screwed this time, since it’s highly unlikely that Nintendo will change their minds in the near or distant future. Before it was just about Activision being brave enough to send them to hell, but now, the ball is completely on Nintendo’s side and there is no way they will play. As long as they make millions with outlandish gymnastic devices and dozens or mediocre games for the casual kingdom, there is no need at all to let other people take advantage of one of the best-selling videogames ever produced, even if its re-release means more money for themselves too. wow this guys really hate nintendo. |
Nah, they're just angry about the fact that Nintendo won't let them milk a great IP and flush its good name down the toilet in the name of profit.
