Are Mega Evos Here To Stay?

Yes 42 100.00%

Total:42

I hope so but also think they should only go to pokemon already on the 3rd form. Pokemon at first and second forms should get evolutions if they need stat fixing, not megas (except legendaries, for obvious reasons).

That's regarding new megas. There's no way  the feature will be removed.

They will stay, they are now a big part of the metagame

I'd like the mega evolutions to stay, but be changed.
I'd like it if the stat changes were minimal, but the mega evolved pokemon changed the type or special effect and that the Pokemon would stay mega evolved until the item is unequipped.
Just to give strategic variety without making them overpowered.

Platforms: Wii U, New 3DS, PS4, PC

currently playing:
 -Yoshi's Wooly World
 -Pokemon X
 -Fire Emblem Fates

Zone: Europe (Germany)

Hm I think they'll keep it up for a while, if not permanently considering how popular it is. Plus there are still a lot of pokemon I want to see with a mega evo(johto starters would be cool!)

I hope either they fully eliminate the feature and just give us new pokemons or go all the way and give mega evolution to all existing pokemons instead of adding new ones. Just don't stay in the middle ground as they currently are.

Also eliminate mega-evo limitations. Make it the new normal.

I dont even know why this is a thing. Its the biggest battle mechanic every made and its a form. Do formes just disapear in a new gen? Besides it was even in a remake that ADDED New forms. If that didn't convince you, i dont know what will.

That said if you dont like it, fine but its not going anywhere, especially when over 300 pokemon still need mega evolutions

I just wish they got rid of Mega Charizard X and Mega Mewtwo X. It's stupid to have Pokémon with two megas, because at some point, ideally, every Pokémon would have a mega evolution, and having a few that have two is ridiculous and unfair.

One could argue that ideally, every Pokémon would have two megas, but that would be way overkill.

I actually like the idea of 2 mega per pokemon. It sems like X form are dramatic changers, as to why charizard and mewtwo gain new types. I mean we can have Blastoise X (Water/Steel) and Venasaur X (Grass/Ground) [Dried up Flower] and it'll from a competitive stand point give us more tension as to what we would battle before they mega evolve.

Charizard is the only one that does this. We have to carefully beware of what it mega evolves into because they are both completely different!!!

I don't see why not, they made a huge deal out of it during XY/ORAS and it would seem weird to just shelve the idea completely.

I hope not. I don't want Pokemon to rely on "more evolutions" to progress the series. Kinda didn't like XY's mega evolutions. They were kinda cheesy to me. I just want more cool pokemon like the first 3 gens.

They're staying, even though I dislike them tbh.
