I'm actually really surprised by the score. It's a pretty fresh new take on the franchise in a barely used setting. Wonder why the reviewers didn't like it.

Honestly, this game is more appealing to me than any FarCry game to date, and I still don't know what was the reason about these reviews. It looks great.
I see Far Cry Primal as a spin off, not a real sequel so I am expecting moderate sales but not in the same league as a main title. Assassin's Creed got to the point where it didn't matter if it was a main or spin off, it was just another annual title ready to be released on November.
| OneKartVita said: No. it's not released every 12 months and this isn't a mainline entry. It's a spin off similar to battlefield hardline |
Hopefully this more like bad company 2!
I don't think Primal will do as well as 4.
However the series has been doing very well recently.

The answer is NO ! There's still a lot of things to do with this formula; Devs and Publishers should only avoid to kill the game by theirselves releasing a sequel every 1 or 2 years. They have to put effort in their Games, and they must not do what they did with Assassin Creed ! I loved Far Cry3 and 4, amazings games; can't wait for Far Cry5, which is not Primal, do you understand Ubisoft ??!!

"Far Cry 4 ended up with 85(Far Cry 3 scored 91 on Xbox 360)"
This kind of tells me everything I need to know about depending on review scores and Metacritic. Far Cry 4 was a much improved game over Far Cry 3.

Well Far Cry does seem to use the same formula every time:
-Exotic location
-People that need liberating from bad guy
-Protagonist thrust headlong into civil war between the two factions, and decides to help good guys
-Wildlife that you can either kill and craft into things or it kills you
-Leaves that you pick to make droogs and stuff
-Similar vehicles to drive around
-Towers that you climb to "unlock the map" or "reduce oppressing influence"
-Crap ton of similar outposts to liberate
-Similar collectibles that relate to the fictional land's history
-You can heal where the animal mauled you by using a stick to pull a bullet out of your arm
-Online co-op missions (where applicable)
*This is without considering Primal - although it will be similar in many aspects
They are good games, but if you can't deal with the same thing every time then you may be disappointed. Yes, they are feeling series fatigue
For as far as I can thrust reviews Farcry 4 and Primal are in multiple ways a bit too similar. So yes in a way it suffers from the AC syndrome reusing the same gameplay assets over and over in a different setting. Without a story that is really good and nearly impossible exploration due to enemies being around every corner or a huge predator, which can be a pain in the arse. Worst of everything above is probably that the same faults are kept trough out the franchise as with AC. This results in a syndrome familiar to annual releases
Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
