If Sony launches at 499 they will lose the VR war instantly. Occulus Rift is $599 and includes the device, an xb1 controller, a camera, a motion controller, and a game

Yep, im sure they will price it lower. PS Move and camera are dirty cheap now, PS4 may get another price cut this year so everything works good for them. Also dont forget games - I bet the PS Vr library will the best one.

lower price=bigger userbase and the userbase is what devs care the most.

Then they will care about the userbase for both platforms because the other isn't going to suddenly die off.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Tell that to HDDVD.

Alright I will put this straight - I dont see big AAA games on - lets say - HTC Vive VR platform if the sales are abysmal, and I think the sales of all VRs will be abysmal not including PS4 VR. Why ?

Because there will be 3-4 PC VRs with high price, competing for one,  rather small userbase of enthusiast with THE PCs, and PS4 VR will be comfortably alone on PS4, with big potentiat userbase, if only Sony prices right and provides support ( Driveclubo, Until Down, etc ).

Lets be honest guyz - Vr games showed already are quite shite, nobody cares.

half agree.  i think some of the experiences look interesting but interesting in the way that those projector games that sometimes appear at the mall are interesting.  for free i'd love to spend a some time playing them but getting me to drop even $300 is a pretty tall order right now.  for $800 absolutly forget about it,.. there are way better things i could spent my money on that a technology that has a high chance of dying (read as unsupported) just days after a failed launch.

I agree. They price too much and later they will complain "nobody buys it ". Sony PS3, Vita memory cards lesson was tough but worthy.

Why not just say PC vr will be shite and make less money?. WHy not just say PC gaming doesn't make enough profits period?.

I dont say that - I said releasing 3 4 VRs on one market, aimed at the smallest userbase, with high price and lack of good games support may turn in 3D TV scenario. All of the VRs here will just canibalize each other, and makes games harder to develop for. Also I dont ger all of this " inferior experience " talk - if u try something for the very first time, u dont think about that.

I think it will be better if there will be only one device, with better price, bigger userbase and with better games support. Just as Sony do. Of course I can be wrong, but thats what I think now.

Don't lie ... if Sony opened up to allowing Porn, you'd drop $299 without a flinch.
