Eh... I think his opinions reflect much of what we're hearing.

Fun gameplay, but its lack of features is disappointing for a modern fighter.

Isn't he doing some Street fighter game or something? Its no wonder I felt he was far to lenient with his rant. When Battlefront was lacking content, he shouted through the roof about it. When Halo 5 had micro-transactions, he was shouting from start to finish! And when godzilla came... he shook the Earth with his rant! But this time, he was far more forgiving for this game's lack of content, and I felt it was unfair. Many independent reviewers are pissed at the game's lack of content, while joe justs sits there and gives little more than a 1/2 assed "this game lacks content, but uhh...".

I feel it was a personal bias, and it was something he should have swept to the side. When a game has big issue's like these, they deserve critism.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Well, I don't know how much of the stream you watched but I watched quite a bit.  And what he says here reflects what he said on stream:  FANTASTIC gameplay and gorgeous visuals held back by a lack of content and limiting design issues online.  No you don't have the moment to moment rage of a stream but streams are always more charged cause either A) they're putting on a show or B) it's just the heat of the moment.  I highly doubt the deal with Capcom does anything to effect this honestly.  Also, I think he wanted to take a more pseudo review tone with this since he won't be doing a review of Street Fighter V due to conflict of interest and the appearance of impropriety (a standard other sites should take more seriously).

Apples and oranges.  Halo's issues were more than just the micro transactions, it was the way they effected specific modes.  Also, Halo had other problems he criticized equally.  And Godzilla was not a problematic game it was a pile of complete garbage.

This is a game or very high quality content lacking in quantity.  Trust me, if Capcom goes back on its free content promise, you'll get the same level of vitriol as he had at the SFV exclusivity announcement.

Fine, but what about Battlefront. Similar scenario. Great gameplay, but no content. And the game should be judged by what's here now, not whats coming later (which was the same for all the other games I talked about).

Well Angry Joe has never been shy about saying his reviews reflect his opinions and as stated in his Battlefront review, he felt the gameplay was far weaker than previous entries.  Even weaker than other shooters of recent times.  Whereas Street Fighter V he feels has the best gameplay of any SF.  Also, for Battlefront the lacking content is more detrimental in some areas.  For example, the severe lack of maps in Battlefront hurts that game more than the lack of stages in SFV.  That's just the nature of the genre.  In fighting games, the 1 on1 fighting mechanics and the quality of the roster are the heart of the game.  And as he said, those mechanics are excellent and the fighters are good but the roster a bit small.  And in the rant video he does say the game is disappointing, the rushed release was a mistake, and that the game right now isn't worth the asking price.  I don't know what you want from him.

Also, free content is going to make him less angry than a $110 deluxe version and a $40 season pass (Battlefront).  That's just duh.

Unless I misunderstood Capcom, all future content is pretty much free isn't it? I consider this release no different from an early access game on Steam.

I guess you can't get into character and flip out about things if you have a deal with that company. I thought he was a good guy always looking out for gamers? That was funny after seeing how much he flipped out about games like Battlefront and Evolve for issues SFV is much guiltier of.

Someone said it earlier in the thread and I agree, it's bizarre seeing all this trust and good will people are putting towards Capcom to deliver on all this stuff they are promising in a timely and free manner. I mean, it's fucking Capcom.

Yeah, he was so forgiving he called the game a huge disappointment at the moment, not worth getting at full price right now, and encouraged people to wait until March or June.  Oh, and also told apologists for the game to shut up very early on.  Yeah, super forgiving.

Seriously, actually listen to what he says.  Oh and Evolve launched with significantly less content than SFV in many areas (seriously, think about that) and intended to sell every single piece for inflated prices, all of which was up for sale at launch and the majority cannot be obtained by any other means.  And Battlefront launched with crappy preorder benefits, severe lack of content, and a $40 season pass.  All of which was announced at launch.  He got livid then cause it was confirmed.  He isn't going to foam at the mouth over hypothetical rip offs.

Seriously people, my word, he does everything we always demand these critics to do.  He warns the game is lacking content, is disappointing at this moment, isn't worth the price tag as is, and encourages people to wait all without jumping on the bandwagon of people giving it a 1 to 4 (seriously folks, play Ride to Hell or Two Worlds or Mind Jack before you give this any of those scores).  Isn't that what we want, detailed honesty?  He gives credit where do and criticizes hard where needed.
