What programs are used for character models? ZBrush? I ask because I'm seriously looking at a game art and animation course for 2017... Your advice would be very very appreciated!

That's a hot OP pic.
Anyway, I remember liking the CGI's in Darkside Chronicles and Metroid Other M for Wii.

Zbrush. Yes. Then, I import into others like Max, Blender, and/or Maya (depending on the sculpt and look I need).

Maya/Zbrush are actually what Naughty Dog use, but their stuff is of higher quality, much of the time, because of budget. If I had a higher budget, I could produce so much more (and in a much shorter span of time).

Are game studios reluctant to hire individuals whom possess no university/college certificate in game art/coding/animation even if the individual has great talent? I see alot of videos on Youtube teaching how to use such programs and wonder if the certificate is really required?

One of the best real time rendered graphics I've seen and it's from Unity

Wish it was a game, a trailer like this at E3 would be too hype

I have a couple of buddies (guys who never finished school) who do freelance work, commissions, and some even work directly for a Game company. The piece of paper is often needed, but not always. If you're just that good, you're just that good. All depends on the circumstances.

I see, thanks again for the insight. Is work always available(abroad or locally)? I'm just worried it would be difficult to get employment after 2 years or solid study.

Bumping on my VGC buddy

Very cool to know. Is it quite a lucrative field? I know one should not get into an industry strictly for money but I hear conflicting statements about how well/poor game artists/coders/designers get paid?

The coders actually make a lot of the bank, much of the time. Designers and Artists, depending on the circumstances, can too. It's just not as likely, because everyone needs a programmer and sometimes, the artist is just, well, an artist!

Is coding very math and physics intensive? I have the notion that one must be almos genius level to be good at coding but I could be wrong??
