Forums - PC - New Details Emerge About NVIDIA's Pascal GPU

I'll be cautious about something coming from a forum user and later published by WCCFTech.

That said, I do hope it's true because there are some games that can't even be trully maxed even at 1440p, even less 4K.

Also, we should hope for something similar from AMD if we want to have competition and keep prices in check.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

I agree, except that this particular info is also being published by VideoCardz (who I trust a good deal).

I've seen quite a few stories being shared between wccftech and videocardz that haven't been true, so I remain skeptical.

It's true that the 4 and 4TFlops figures do come from a slide, but it's not from an Nvidia one. And we don't know how much info does that professor actually have, and how much comes from his own guesstimates.

This is gonna be absolute murder, especially with HBM. I may fall for the temptation of upgrading my GPU sooner than I should...

I'm saying that VideoCardz shares you skepticsm. It's why I posted this, because despite that, they seem to believe in this (and VideoCardz published stories like this just prior to the release of the Titan, Titan Black, and Titan X - all cards that I bought). Thus, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Only a litttle under two months tillGTC, anyway. I'll update here when that's LIVE.

It's unlikely, but we may get some hints or even real info at GDC.

Lol I'll believe it when I see it. Nvidia has taught technical minded people to be more than skeptical about their claims. Another paper launch with the real downgraded product releasing in 2017. They have done this before where they will launch something but conveniently only have enough product to ship to reviewers and nobody will be able to buy it.

Performance per watt increase is mind blowing. I can't wait for some benchmarks.

Both Nvidia and AMD have made that mistake.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if neither Nvidia nor AMD launch their big guns (Titan and Fury) this year. GloFo/Samsung's 14nm and TSMC's 16nm aren't mature enough for those chips. That's why AMD had only demoed the small, ˜110mm2, chip and has a 232mm2 one to replace their 290/390 series of cards that measure 438mm2 (that's just speculation, btw).

We may see them in their Pro line of cards where the profits margin is big enough to warrant the low yields, but not on the consumer market.

Ah, yes. GDC! We'll probably get a snippet! They always like teasing us that way!
