If this occurs, it is evident MS is essentially done with conventional consoles. The next 'xbox' will most likely be a streaming box/digital only device that shares games with PC.

Hello Data Caps.... Compressed images that hurt IQ, and Input lag & lag spikes (which physical hardware wouldnt have).

Goodbye owning a xbox console, and not being a live member paying 60$+/year (consumers love options taken away from them).

Goodbye physical discs that you own, and collecting games that way (who collects games anyways am I right?)

The future is bright, alright.

The only upside is you dont have to spend 400$ at the start of the gen to get a console (big upside), It would cost maybe 1/4th?

but I feel like the bad outweighs the good here.

I agree, I love physical media and would be plenty disappointed if Sony/MS went down that road next generation. I'm hoping they don't but MS seems to be merging their console and PC lines together...

Well not every game will come but a good amount should.

XB1 games have actually been selling more than PC.

Fallout 4 on xb1 sold 3.5m http://www.vgchartz.com/game/85598/fallout-4/ on pc 2.9ml

Batman Arkham knight sold 1.3ml on xb1 http://www.vgchartz.com/game/79436/batman-arkham-knight/ on pc it sold 500k

The elder scrolls online sold 1.1ml on xb1 http://www.vgchartz.com/game/77052/the-elder-scrolls-online/ and 490k on pc http://steamspy.com/search.php?s=The+Elder+Scrolls+Online

Far Cry 4 on xb1 sold 1.5ml http://www.vgchartz.com/game/80323/far-cry-4/ on pc it sold 650k http://steamspy.com/search.php?s=Far+Cry

These are only few of the games but it seems like games do better on xb1 than on pc.

What number is a good amount?, I mean PC has a shit ton of exclusives and games from over the years, is a good amount 80% of them or something?, even half of them is a massive amount.

Will Fallout 4 sell more than PC 10 years from now?.

WIll a game on a platform that eventually egts discontinued continue to sell more than PC? (that's a question but it;s not one that can be answered because the obvious answer is no it can't).

ES MMO drowned in a sea of MMOs on a platform that's popular with them, what XBox gamers like compared to PC is different, look at FF and Warcraft comapred to ES Online and you'll see a different picture.

FC4 on PC wasn't all that great and requires that lovely Uplay you know every PC gamer praises and loves.

If games sell better on X1 than PC then why is MS shifting all these strats in favour of PC and not all on X1?, why are they shifting plans and not taking on PS4?.

All the good things against PC you wrote are different due to how the game was launched vs the market it;s targeting, you gave an MMO that's unpopular on PC for various reasons, not the markets fault that they didn't do a better job at grabbing the crowd while other more popular MMOs win out. The sales data can only go on for so long before the platform stops and the next gen begins, with PC the sales go on and on and on for years and years. That's why Skyrim has sold more on PC along with other games like XCOM than last gen combined and it still goes on, where is everyone on last gen or current gen buying Skyrim and XCOM?, they have all the time in the world to go back to another platform and buy said game, once it gets discontinued then the point will still be standing there. What you get is those nice looking "burst" sales that you're pointing out rather than standing back and looking at the end game sales some years later. A good game on PC will sell for years and years, even through discounts and non discounts, as long as it's actually liked by people on that platform then it will continue to sell.

The difference is this, the PC Triple A Market, because is Digital, and not at Retail, give more profit per unit than the Consoles, because consoles are Physical units (the consoles just need to purchase more Digital, to became same profitable as PC), 3 Millions of Fallout 4, agaist 3.5 Millions on Xbox One, isn't a big enough difference, so the PC Version, that was still 60US$, gave more profit, maybe even more than Playstation 4's version, because was a full priced game Digital Only.

Have games that sell tons more on PC, than on Xbox, look at Tomb Raider, over 4 Millions on PC, and less than 3 Millions with Xbox One + Xbox 360 (Tomb Raider 2013).

Acording to VG Chartz, GTA V, sold 4.20 Millions on Xbox One, agaist + or - 5 Millions on PC (Steam numbers + some speculation about other stores), so the PC, have the Actual possibility of selling certain games better than Xbox One, but this does not mean all games.

The Witcher 3, sold 1.11 Millions on Xbox One, and over 2 Millions on PC.

Why do you think that Kojima, is doing a game also for PC ?, is because different from the Xbox One, the PC Community embraced Metal Gear Solid, sold over 900 Thousands, nearly the same than Xbox One, and is a Full Priced game, 100% Digital, so have more Profit.

If this is true it signals a seismic shift in MS' gaming policies. In fact I would argue it shows they are considering getting rid of XBOX.

Wow if it's true more and more people wont see any reason to keep they X1 included myself.

It boils down to the reason many of us play on consoles to begin with.  It's a convenient dedicated gaming machine for one's living space where they can turn the power on and in minutes be competing with people around the planet, on the sofa next to them, or by themselves.  It will have a different entry cost than PCs which we know have the capacity to outperform these machines but not everyone wants that kind of fuss.

I know that I will be giving Microsoft some money if some of these games pop up on PC but that doesn't mean I don't give my console any attention either.

People buy the Xbox One for the same main reasons they buy a Sony Playstation 4 or a Nintendo Wii U - a convenient, dedicated gaming experience and to make brash generalizations or say this will do any real damage to potential sales of the Xbox One is completely baseless.

So, do you think that Exclusives don't push sales ?, do you really think this ?, so why the Companies still making exclusives ?.

Gran Turismo 5, and Uncharted, pushed PS3, sales and helped to close the gap with Xbox 360, Halo 3, helped to push Xbox 360 sales, was  Microsoft's best selling exclusive.

Final Fantasy 7, Helped the PS1, to get a Lead (the game was on PC, but was on the 90s, where PCs, were much more expensive than today, much much more).

Pokemon, is one of the only things that sustain the life of Nintendo's Handheld, Nintendo 3DS, would not even be at 25-30 Millions units sold, if was not because of Pokemon, and Monster Hunter.

Exclusives do matter, and if is on PC, will push less Hardware, and Xbox One, already is behind on Hardware.

What games did Microsoft, took away from PC ?, The only one that i saw people arguing was Tomb Raider, that Was Timed, and not made by Microsoft, the others are the same as usual, like Halo, Forza,  and some Remasters, Sunset Overdrive, is not even talked this much.

People were upset not because was Exclusive for the console, is because Microsoft, bought the Timed Exclusivity, after the game already was ready to launch, Also because the PC, and the PS4, have a higher Fanbase of Tomb Raider, than Xbox, look at the sales, the last game sold 4 Millions on PC, and 4Millions on PS3+ PS4.

Square Enix, pissed more than 8 Millions of Fans only to try push some Xbox One, consoles, but because was timed, everyone hated Microsoft for the move, and did not purchased a Xbox One, they got a little money, and pleased less than 1.5 Xbox One, gamers,  and making more than 8 Millions of other players, un-able to play the game because of the deal.

I'm sorry. Perhaps I'm not understanding your point. How does this refute what I said?

You said "Microsoft, took away a Game, and Locked it at 900p" you said that People were arguing because of that, but no one is saying nothing about Microsoft's exclusives, my point is the Timed Exclusivity of Tomb Raider, this had 8 Millions of pissed fans that did not played, because Microsoft, paid for the game that already was ready for launch, to launch 2 Months later on PC, and 1 year later on Playstation, You are saying like Everyone say this on Every Xbox Exclusive, while not even a single person were arguing about Microsoft, leting their exclusives, continue exclusives for Xbox.

Why would replying to seperate posts in seperate posts be spamming? Do we have a new rule on the forums?

You've replied 5 times. Had it not been for my post, they'd all be in a row. I'm just telling you that the Multi-Quote feature makes things so much easier for the thread.

But Multi-quote do make the Thread became blue for someone that is waiting a Reply ?, for everyone that is Quoted ?.

People buying a console for only one game I don't believe that anymore. If they plan on getting that one game it most probably because there are some others that interest them otherwise, why not just rent it? Or borrow it from a friend? If you don't want anything else then don't get it.

Also I should've wrote imo on my first post. There will always be exceptions I know but imo that's a mute argument. Suddenly so many people care for the state of Xbox and were planning on getting one... sorry but I don't believe that.

The amount of people willing to buy a console just for one or two games has to be so low that it's not even worth keeping it exclusive to the system.

Actually People that purchase only 2 games can move Millions of units of Hardware, Microsoft, is just not making exclusive because Xbox One, is not Selling, but would sell more if the game were Exclusive, look for Uncharted + Gran Turismo, look last gen how much Hardware they moved, last gen Sold over 18 Millions of Uncharted, and 21 Millions of Gran Turismo, did you think that it did not moved Millions of Hardware ?.

Look for the Pokemon games on the 3DS, did you think that it did not move Hardware ?, i think that Pokemon, alone move atleast 30% of all Nintendo 3ds's Hardware.

People need to know that Exclusives still matter, only because Microsoft, is sending their exclusives for PC, does not means that does not matter, Just means that they don't want to push more Hardware with exclusives, and they want to move small ammount of Hardware, and make profit from Software, and this is exactly what a Third Party company would do.

PC's boot up faster and load games quicker - so your argument carries no weight.

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

So why own consoles at all then? You own at least a PS4 and an Xbone. For that initial $750 or so investment just for hardware you could have built a more than capable gaming computer. And then you save lots of money every year since there is no more XBLG/PS+ to pay for, and you get all your games cheaper, and there's way way more games and peripherals to choose from. Why do you game inferiorly?

The same could be asked on the inverse, why own a console that have almost the same games that your already owned Gaming Rig? To play the same games but on a inferior performance? It doesnt make any sense.

All platforms are diferentiated by its exclusives, if all consoles would have the same exact games it would be a pointless competition and it would rely in what? Performance only with the ocasional senseless brand fanboy.

Like i said, i will always prefer consoles over PC's because of the straight fordwardness that i was talking about, but im perfectly aware that literally almost all games perform better on the PC with the exception of some developer fuck ups that doesnt have to do with your PC per se.

If someone who has a capable PC has also an Xbox One, whats the point of playing the inferior version? That is the question.

  • The game is single player, so your friends having the X1 version is irrelevant.
  • The game performs better on the PC.
  • The Xbox One controller can be used as well on PC.
  • The Gaming Rig can be connected to the TV.
  • The game will probably will be cheaper on the PC.
  • The game is releasing the same day on both platforms.

I mean, from every angle there is no positive about playing the Xbox One version.

If there comes the day that ALL exclusives will be available on PC also, whats the point of having an Xbox console if you already have a capable PC?

To be fair, there will also be people like me that will prefer consoles over PC 100% of the time.

If you're wondering why someone would game on a platform where a majority of the games exist in superior form elsewhere, then I would again just ask why you bother gaming on consoles. Convenience and exclusives are two reasons why people still use consoles.

As for Quantum Break, a SP game (I assume this is what you're referring to), luckily good guy MS gives us the PC version free. So it's a moot issue.

Also, you answered your own question with the last line.

This makes me happy. I'm going with PC this gen and Xbone is the last console I'd buy out of the ones on the market. This is the best way for MS to earn some of my money and for me to play their games. I hope they bring all their exclusives, especially Halo and Gears of War. I've played GeoW 1 on my PC and loved it, I'd buy all games in the series if only they released them on PC.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.
