Forums - Gaming Discussion - VGC Ecosystem: Xbox Fanbase is endangered | Nintendo over doubles Sony in threads

The entire reason poeple post in the Rebublic thread and don't post in Xbox threads is due to the need to filter through pages of stealth trolls, flame baits and downplay to find the 2 or 3  positive or contructive comments and posts from people who are generally interested in the OP.

All fanbases have trolls, flamebaiters and positive people.  Doesn't stop Nintendo from dominating threads.

Nintendo fans also likely gets the most flak, but they don't stay in their domination thread.

I agree with that. That's a nice quality of theirs to be honest. Nintendo fans are very used to dealing with people criticizing nintendo in immature or mature ways, the few who can't deal with it have a long mod history.

Just stop it Rol, don't pull twists with me.

Even if everyone votes for Nintendo at some level, the fact is that the top rankers are all Nintendo, while people with other preferences don't vote that way at least for their top rankers, the fact that OoT has been the top ranking since ever is pretty telling, I'm also pretty sure Smeags compiled the number of #1 those games gets, you can see Nintendo games on top have the most of them as well.

Now for the greatest users, the thing is that when you like Nintendo you simply get to know more people around here exactly because there are more active Nintendo users than anything else, you talk about NX and there is a ton of people to anwser and chat with so there is more relationship bonds being made, that's why the most of users related to Nintendo have a better go there, because in the end they know more people and are liked to get more votes because of that, it's very common to see in the early rounds people telling they don't know some of the contestants and are ranking them low because of that, which hardly happens with active Nintendo users.

Plain and simple, this website has its biggest share of active users related to Nintendo, and it's pretty easy to notice it, specially if you are not one of those (but even if you are), and I'm completely sure you know this as well, thus letting it go after this post.

You seem to have a problem to accept that Nintendo is the publisher who has made the most great games. It isn't even a contest because everyone else is so far behind. Ocarina of Time sits at or near the top in pretty much any best-games-of-all-time list on the internet. Then you have games like Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Metroid Prime etc. which most people would put on their lists in some way. That adds up. Honestly, what do you expect? That Nintendo holds less than ten spots of the top 30?

And yes, this website has its biggest share of active users related to Nintendo, because the company has made too many great games to be ignored by anyone who likes video games. Hence why even people who primarily game on PlayStation or Xbox put Nintendo games on their list. Hence why as far as discussions are concerned, Nintendo isn't as isolated as the other companies. Hence why subsequently people who post about Nintendo are more well-known than any other people.

Reality has a Nintendo bias.

They think that way because they grew up with Nintendo. If you would have played Alundra (A Sony IP not Published by them in the West) as your first Zelda you would have a total different opinion on Nintendo games.

I just wrote that the PC community isn't big lol. It's in that very same post you quoted. Are you trying to tell me that these Steam users with 100+ games aren't PC gamers? Sure, they don't fit with your definition of "primarily participating in PC threads and not console threads and do not game on consoles", but they are still PC gamers...

Then why are we dealing with a schrodinger's cat scenario then?.

How is it a Schrödinger's cat scenario? A lot of people here game on PC. End of discussion.

@Bolded, and yet there is so little discussion, so little ongoing topics besides the main thread. That is exactly a schro scenario, PC gamers apparently exist in droves here and yet there is so little discussion.

End of discussion as you say.

Part of why I think you see so few of said topics is because there's no sales chatter to tag it with. So, it's either all graphics talk or PC spec talk.

THe main thread doesn't have us talking about just sales and only sales, there are plenty of tyhreads for console suers not talking about sales.

Either way my point still stands, if the few of here can talk about different PC related topics or games than so can others.

Schrödinger's cat is based on something existing in two different states at the same time until you measure it... In this case, you are talking about two different things (amount of PC gamers and the PC community itself), so it's not in any way like Schrödinger's cat, because you aren't talking about the same thing existing yet not existing, you are talking about one thing existing (a substantial amount of PC gamers on the forum), but a completely different thing not existing (a substantial amount of PC focused discussion on the forum). Not schrödinger's cat.

Yes, but with consoles, those topics collide with one another. With PC, sales isn't ever even a discussion.

Sales are a topic of discussion whenever there isn't much news, I've seen PC sales topics from non PC folk when they look at Steam spy and the same for those that are PC gamers, hell the recent XCOM

thread has me and another poster actually posting sales data, two topics in one thread at once.

YOu are saying PC gamers exist in big numbers on here and yet I'm not seeing any in terms of PC centric activity, it's like you are telling me something is right in front of me but I;m literally not seeing anhytyhing, no noise or movement.

End of the day I see little PC discussion despite there apparently being *lots* of PC gamers on here. If it;s going to go back and forth like this (between two people now) then I'll just disagree heavily, I'm sorry but I just don't see it your way at all.

Yeah, lots of PC gamers doesn't equate to there being lots of PC centric activity. Like I just explained though, that has nothing to do with the principle behind Schrödinger's cat (and frankly, thought experiments to explain quantum mechanics really have no place in a discussion like this...). Furthermore, what even counts as "PC centric activity"? Has it occured to you that much of the "PC" activity occurs in "multiplat" threads about multiplat games like Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, GTA, Metal Gear Solid, etc?

I'm not sure what you are disagreeing with me on. Are you disagreeing that these PC gamers exist? Because I can prove that they do, pretty irrefutably.

I'm just telling you that there is a very dedicated PC fanbase, here and the reasons I brought are why you won't find as many topics as for the consoles.

The way you and I see people who are "dedicated" are very different. When I see dedication at work, I see people doing what they love, talking of what they love, same with local aid volounteers on my island, I actually see them about in my daily life, I don't jsut hear but not see a single one for years on end, heck I even see them in my local paper each week. Even though you talk of overlap, it still doesn't stop you from popping by one in a while to talk about something PC related, I mean what has stopped you for a year so far in popping in a few times to our main thread?, same for everyone else?. What literally binds your will and soul from clicking on a thread to a topic of a platform you're apparently dedicated to?.

All I am asking is that so called dedicated PC users interact more than simply going "I'm sparticus" and then sitting back down never to say anything again until the same question is asked. Seriously that's all I'm asking.
