I cringed when I read the OP. Like, it was almost physically painful.

Bottom line, xbox fans won't mind, PC fans certainly won't mind, and Playstation fans hopefully don't mind. Geez.

Where did we loose platform and exclusive... It's still on Microsoft platform only and without Xbox they wouldn't exist.... And with Onecore this platform distinction you are trying to make will fade more and more...
I don't many console gamer who care about PC gaming... If you have a gaming PC you have plenty of material to play for centuries without caring about a single console exclusive... This is a non argument... It might concern a real tiny percentage of very improbable Xbox buyers in the first place...

The PC isn't a "microsoft platform" though. It has competing stores (like steam). It has games that aren't in any way related to Microsoft (like playstation games). There is no royalty fee.

It is simply a neutral area.  It is basically a Mall. Also your argument is very strange. "If you have a gaming PC - you aren't interested in console exclusives?" that is just beyond strange.

Windows 10 however is a Microsoft platform. They want to lure as many PC users onto it as possible. Whether that's luring then from older OSs or from rival OSs. They still have some vested interest in getting more people onto windows 10. It also makes software development more cost effective to them as they are increasing their potential sales to a market which looks down on consoles as inferior platforms to play games on.

Except no. Again, this is just a desperate rationalization in the face of your preferred console losing one of its biggest reasons to buy said console. Talk all you want about how this is an overall victory for Microsoft Studios, but depending on how well it sells on PC you might see more and more Xbox exclusives run on PC as well. And then suddenly poof.

Xbox is gone because there's no longer a reason for it.

You have done no research in your posts which leads me to think your not even serious. Your basing your facts off He said She said nonsense.

Let me explain it to you and prove you wrong just for the giggles. Microsoft have stated many times that Xbox is an important part of there buisness

http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-is-fundamentally-important-to-microsoft-cfo-s/1100-6432369/

As stated by the CFO, so whos word do i take here, the CFO to one of the biggest corpations in the world, or an unknown forum warrior claiming the end of a profitable gaming devision?

XB1 has 20m units sold to customers around the world, and basing Xbox off the past, this isnt the first time great AAA MS games crossed to PC. Halo 1, 2, Gears 1, Fable 1, 2 and afew others have all made it to the PC yet the XBox consoles are still around.. wierd why? Xbox biggest brand Halo made it to PC and yet the XBox version outsold it by miles.. interesting.

Hardware sales dont bring in the profit, Companies focus on where the money is. If your going to sell more games with a higher profit margin then selling consoles with less profit margin then the anwser is simple. Sell the games. QB will sell 500k on PC and maybe even more compared to selling 100k consoles where Xbox only make little to no profit what-so-ever.

Go on, i want you to buy QB on PC, go support MS and XBox while trying to downplay there own hardware, its funny reading these comments. MS make billions a month. Thanks for contributing.

Oh, right. Yeah, let's take the word of a company that only two years ago told us they were going to be implementing DRM into their new console only to heel-face-turn the moment their stock wiggles. Mhm. Seems like a company that knows how to stick to its guns.

The fact remains that this will diminish XB1 sales. The last main Halo title to release on PC was Halo 2. That's not very recent, and the PC community has gotten much larger since then.

And no, hardware sales don't bring profit. They bring userbase, which brings profit. And if Microsoft is going to start treating XB1 like a PC, why not just get a PC? What then would be the point of Xbox at all? Regardless of their current position, all it takes is investors to become uneasy before Microsoft well bend to their will.

I doubt Sony will put their 1st Party stuff on PC. They'll keep doing what they're doing, sharing their 3rd party titles with the PC community. Microsoft has a different reason for the supporting the PC this way, and maybe it's better for them.

* adjusted the OP to reflect the official news *

I think MS has another reason. The recent Tomb Raider situation, where they launched the game on the Windows Store with a steep price and the cut it just to beat Steam really shows where they are going. On Android and iOS, when you want an app or a game you go to the App Store/Google Play. On Windows, you (theoretically) gets apps on the Windows Store and games on Steam. MS is clearly showing that they want the games on their store so they get their cut instead of Valve getting it.

To get people off Steam, they already have the advantage of being pre-installed on every PC with Windows 8/10 and also allowing simultaneous active installs on more PCs than Steam. They will also have to fight Valve on pricing, but MS has more money to burn here. Another good approach is having former XOne exclusives also available exclusively on the Windows Store. Add Xbox Live achievements + cross buy and that's something special.

I've already posted it here when Valve announced the Steam Machines/OS: that move was an attempt to prepare Valve to deal with a possible direct clash with MS.

Wait...is a Windows 10 PC required to play this game on PC?

Honestly, yes it does kind of bother me that XboxOne has lost so many exclusives. I know that technically exclusives don't matter because I am still able to play them on my console, but I cant just help but feel that it is better when a console has a big robust library of exclusives. Dead Rising 3 for example was a game that I got the day I first bought my Xbox One and it felt good knowing that this game could only be played on this console. When it was lost to the PC, it made me feel like it was a huge loss to the Xbox community because now people have one less reason to buy the console. Sorry if this doesn't make any sense, I am new here to the community so I don't really know how you all feel about this kind of thing.

Hypothetically, if the game was exclusive to PC and suddenly got ported to the Xbox One, what would it mean? Did Xbox One gain a game? Would it be considered a "pro"? It would still be the exact same game available on two platforms at the end of the day.

This is strange. I mean going by my thread here http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=213675&page=1 Many people still seem to think the would be a need for a console, even if that console had an OS on PC that could play "All" its games. All you have to do is change my thread title from Sony OS to MS one and you will get the point i was making in that thread, no difference here.

You even wrote a reply in the same thread saying that you wouldnt use it http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=7764784.

I bet if MS made an exclusive Halo game for PC you would be the first one to say "see they not supporting X1" but yet when Sony releases an Uncharted game or Killzone etc on the PSVita they are good cos they are supporting all their platforms..

You yourself have even stated many times that PC and console gamers are not the same, that console versions of games will always sell better etc. So why now is this a problem for you or why are you trying to make it out to be bigger then it is??.

The problem with your thread is exactly the same problem problem I have with QB being on PC (though I'm actually happy I can get it on my PC instead of having to buy an XB1). It diminishes the importance of the console, as well as muddying the water with different system specs. The reason consoles can last longer than PC equivalents is because of hardware optimization, which becomes exceedingly difficult to do when you have millions of potential parts.

And don't quote me on single word responses as though you have my full answer. With as little offense meant as possible and focusing only on definition of the word used, a response to something like that can only be ignorant.

And as for being released on multiple Sony systems? I don't like that. It holds back the game from being everything it could have been (better graphics/physics if it was PS4 exclusive, touch controls if it was Vita exclusive). Another assumption you've made about my opinions that was incorrect.

And you're right, PC gamers and console gamers aren't the same. They focus on different aspects of games, as well as having different preferences in games (Third Person Action vs Strategy, for example). They put different things in different orders of importance, and oftentimes play drastically different games. AAA titles always sell better on console because PC, for all their want of power, typically focus on less demanding games like LoL and WoW.

Yes and i think thats what many is forgetting. This game is not on Linux or Mac or any other OS its exclusive to Windows 10 and X1.

Now I see what's going on here. Let me as a Ninty fan teach you something about Sony fans. Sony fans are so afraid of other fanbases including hardware that's not home consoles they'll do whatever it takes to disqualify it. Just look at the amount of bitching that happens when Ninty fans mention 3ds. Since Sony only supports one of their plats, Micro and Ninty should be treated as if they do the same. Just ignore them. Gaming is more than just home consoles but since its all Sonys got, Sony fans are going to desperately push it as all that matters.

First of all i was quoting you to show how a PS4 OS still wouldnt make you go out and build a PS4 os or use one if it could play all PS4 games you would still use your PS4. so why is this any different for an Xbox1 owner?.

I didnt say on multi sony systems i said you would have a problem with MS releasing an Exclusive Halo game for Windows PC since we all know you would be one of the first one saying how X1 is losing exclusives and games like you are doing here. But did you have a problem with the Exclusive Uncharted or Kilzone games that was released on the Vita??. Did you have a problem with Sony supporting their other platform??. If the PSVita was just as powerful as the PS4 would you have a problem with Sony allowing Cross buy of games or would you see it as a Feature??. If the PSVita got say Uncharted 4 at the same time as the PS4 would you see it as Sony losing exclusives??.

Except this is a real thing, not a hypothetical. People who had PCs that could run this game bought XB1's to play it, and are now stuck with a system that is all but pointless since this seems to be a growing trend of XB1 games also being on PC. Those people got duped.

And okay, now you're discussing things you don't seem to grasp. The exclusive games on Vita are exclusive. Golden Abyss, for example, is NOT available on PS4. They are reasons to buy a Vita. That's the point of exclusives. It is in no way similar to what is happening with Quantum Break. And the thing is that the Vita ISN'T as strong as the PS4. If it was, there would be a stronger console, or some kind of "at home dock".
