That sucks.. I remember going to GT all the time to watch AVGN and Screwattack..

I knew I heard that name before.  I've watched all the AVGNs but I was asking myself what GameTrailers was here for a minute.  Funny I found out Screwattack was its own entity as well as I associated both with AVGN.

Not really surprised, GT went to shit after Shane, Damiani, Bloodworth, Justin Speer and other folks from the old crew left.

Bloodworth never left.

And honestly, I was happy Shane left. I never liked him.

Hm, I was pretty sure he was also in that big culling that happened before their overlords decided to try to make them more hip...but nvm.

As for Shane, yeah, he's the guy most people disliked...until he left and things started to fall apart.

Anyway, I miss GT...old one.

Shocking news. I didn't go there often, but it was one of my go-to sites when I looked for videos of games.

I'm sad for them.

Welcome to the site. Yes, it's green. But you get used to it after a while .

Yeah... kinda strange getting used to. Especially on a smartphone.

Welcome. I hope you find this place good enough to stay, just be patient because this site is not very PC friendly. Btw, you have a nice rig, tho I'm surprised that you have a 4K monitor with a 970.

And VGC is not smartphone friendly. It's one of the things that this site has to improve.

Please excuse my bad English.

I'm surprised myself how well the games work on my rig in 4k. But of course there are some exceptions like AC:Syndicate or GTA 5 which demand way too much VRAM and performance. So I can'T max them out or have to play on 1440p.

But all the older games I play like BF4, Rage, Dirt 2, Dirt Rally and so on are running pretty great on it.

I read that the 3.5+0.5 VRAM did became a problem once resolution goes up, but if it runs fine for you then great.

Not surprised about Syndicate because it's an Ubisoft game, and therefore it's bad optimized, but GTA V is quite demanding even at lower resolutions. No surprise there.

That's not too surprising. Obnoxious or annoying ads = ad blocker. I started using ad blocker because of this site.

You mean VGC? I did too. For at least 3 years the ads on VGC have been very taxing, but in the last couple of years so heavy that it's been impossible to browse for me here. It was part of the reason why a took a long break away from here.
I love this site, but I just don't understand how the ads here constantly could make such extreme lag.

Not sure if this is legal to discuss here but, VGC is guilty of me using ad-blocker now.

Yeah. It was the same case for me with the ads causing  everything to lag but the ads would sometimes cause my browser to crash. Got fed up with it eventuallly. I think it's fine to talk about ad blocker is fine. A mod recommend I use ad blocker when I complained about the ads before. haha.

What the hell? The staff didn't know until the last minute?

Sad to know a lot of them have kids or a family to feed and they are pinned back. Video game journalism is becoming more of a one man show now days. Eventhough I don't care too much about Greg Miller, he made a smart decision to start his own small business. There isn't enough money in gaming journalism to help everyone out.

Edit: What if we start a patreon to revive gametrailers? They obviously need to scale back, but still.
