For me, a player that especially likes the turn based war simulations such as Advance Wars, I would want all three console makers to fail except for that one genre of game that I like. And the console that supported that genre to suceed, with all game developers only / primarily concentrating on that niche.
Of course, seeing it at a bit wider of a view point, I would be sadden if Nintendo disappeared. 3 console makers adds enough diversity to go for slightly different markets without overwhelming us with too much choice.

"Motion controls are a gimmick, and i hate them, they serve no use in gaming. Sony was retarded to add them just like Nintendo. And if motion controls are the future then why the hell is Nintendo still selling GC controllers right alongside wii games.
Rumble in games serves little to no use, i have only found one use for it and thats being shot at in a game, and i could careless if it leaves forever. Since i have had no rumble since i bought my PS3 and i do not miss it. Online play or wavebird controllers could never be called a gimmick, they improve on gaming as a whole, unlike motion controls, which infact inhibit gamers controls over their game.
Pressing a button gets the job done alot faster and alows quicker controls in fast paced games the waving your hand to do something, plus the game does not even do what you want it to all the time."
All of that is true. But only for you.
Online play is a gimmick.
But only for me, since I rarely use it, and like to just play as a single player.
I like rumble. It's sensory feedback. And when Sony dropped it, you could hear their fans rumble as well, and now it is back.
Motion control is ONE of the options inputs for future gaming. It doesn't (and shouldn't be and isn't) the only one. However, to bring in a lot more people to the gaming world, it helps. Now, don't worry. I doubt if you will see / come into contact with many of these new ones that use the Wii Remote to play with. But let them have their fun too.
After all, they don't make you drive an automatic SUV, which most now days are not sporty, nor very utility, and on some days on the freeway, I even wonder about vehicle.

"If the Wii had been a flop I would be much happier because like most cheap things it holds the technology world back for another generation, luckily, I suppose the Wii isn't as bad since it has Motion sensing.
I mean, if price wasn't a concern imagine how much farther along technology would be."
If price wasn't a concern, then even the PS3 would be a flop. Think of what a trillion dollar (or higher) console gaming machine could do compared to the what would be considered pathetic sub-$1000 consoles.
But price is a concern, so much so that if PS3 hadn't been able to get its price down, we probably would have been still talking about its very poor sales.
Cheap may be holding back new technology for the next generation console, but thanks to motion controls, there will be more gamers to play those machines.
