Forums - Nintendo - If the Wii had been a flop, would you be happer, and why?

first off i believe you mean happier, not happer.

secondly, yes I'd be a lot happier if it had gamecube type sales. Not because i hate to see my opponents do better, but because the opponent in this case, is far inferior in technology and power. The ONLY reason its winning is cause its cheap. Kids ask for a PS360 for christmas and get a Wii and there parents say "well billy, we can't afford a PS360 so here's a wii"

I wish Nintendo would have made another great console like the GameCube and just had it flop instead of making the Wii. Now they've become piece of shit Sony use to be. Seeing Nintendo do well in the console market is not worth having them reduced to... this.

Your posts are becoming more retarded by the hour. At least Griffen has an excuse, he's a super-fanboy, you should know better.

I'm takin Zenfoldor's side on this one.

Might as well throw my 2 cents in here. I only have a Wii and that was two weeks ago so I only have Zelda, but I most definitely do not like the controller and that is the main selling point of the Wii.

Don't get me wrong, it has its up sides, like when using the claw shot or the bow, but to have to flick the controller to swing the sword and not have it work all the time really blows. Also the system having trouble telling the difference of me wanting to hit the enemy with my shield and me wanting to do a spinning attack when the motions are completely different is kind of stupid. I probably would have liked it more if they stuck to just push A to swing and incorporate the motion control for special attacks, but that is not the case and it doesn't change the fact that it has trouble telling the difference in the motion of the nun chuck that I mentioned. I usually would have beaten a Zelda game as good as this one close to twice by now in the time that I have had it but I can not play for extended periods of time without my wrist getting sore because of those controls, after all, the point of a gaming system is to the play games not recoup from the last gaming session.

I could make a more informed decision when I buy Super Mario Galaxy, but that won't be for a bit longer, to see how they evolve the controls, but the way that they started inspired a lot of 3rd party companies to make the motion censors the controls of the game instead of a complement to the game. That isn't very focused I know but to make my point clear, I am glad that they did what they did with the remote, there are good things about it, but I don't like how they went about using it so far. I much prefer traditional gaming because it would allow me to play the games more instead of playing a little bit here and there because of poorly thought out controls (like in Metroid where reviewers said you can't play the game for long without getting carpal tunnel).

Well controls are not perfect on Zelda, but to tell the truth, I have never felt sore after playing Zelda or Metroid and Ive finished them both 100%. I played for 10 hours sessions some times.

You need to do slow movements not shake your arms like it was the last thing you will ever do, just do it properly.

What the Wii lacks in power it gains it in INNOVATION, and im not sure kids ask for PS3 or 360 more than they ask for Wiis.

Slow movements in Zelda won't get Link to swing his sword, Navi just flies back and forth across the screen.  I don't  shake my arms like my life depended on it either, just a quick flick of the wrist as my hand is wresting on my lap and it seems that is all it takes.  I have also thought about getting the classic controller, since it is supposed to be usable in the game, but I want to try and beat it first using the Wiimote.  I think Nintendo did the right thing in having their games support the classic controller as well.

I'm pretty sure TP Wii doesn't support the classic controller. It's also not a real game to judge Wii controls off of, after all the game was made for Gaemcube and the Wii controls are an after thought, the game was not made for them.

I got a cramp from playing Metroid Prime 3...but considering that I had been playing it for nearly 4 hours without a break, it's no mystery. I actually haven't had any problems with the Wiimote after that. I think it's just a case of people adjusting.

Wow, I totally posted this in the wrong topic, edit, lol.

I don't need your console war.

You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

I'm glad the Wii is a success. The Wii is the first Nintendo console that I've owned since the SNES. (I did have a gba/gba sp) Although, I do play my 360 more, I still enjoy the games that I have on the Wii. (waits patiently for Kart to be released...) :)

How am i a fanboy, i like all the systems but the wii, i am a big fan of some Nintendo games too.  I even own a DS.

You're a fanboy not because of your opinion, but because you refuse to present it in anyway civil or productive and only after the fact of being challenged do you offer any like this where you try to pretend you're not "THAT" biased. Everyone owns a DS, it's like saying owning an Ipod is proof you like Apple, have a cookie.

When challenged (as I had you earlier), your response was to attack me as a person rather than defend your claim in question and then finally defaulting on the convenience of saying its not worth your time. Only now have I made any mention of your character in this thread and that was because you asked the question specifically. Your contribution to threads like this is hit and run when it comes to anything of relevancy.
