Forums - Gaming Discussion - Does taking a game to kickstarter make you want it less?

This is an interesting question...I do think that some people are skeptical of Kickstarter because of some of the projects that have failed, but overall I don't think it's hurt the systems effectiveness.

Oh, and good luck on your game! If you do decide to go the Kickstarter route, be sure to post something about it here (as long as that's not against the rules?) I'm sure some of us here would be more than happy to give you a hand with it.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It doesn't keep me from being soooo excited over Yooka-Laylee! The way a game gets funded doesn't interest me in the slightest. On the contrary, it demonstrates the will to raise funds in a creative way. Creative funding may mean creative games.

Only because they set unrealistic expectations to get more donations. Otherwise a game like Divinity Original Sin is fine.

No, however I never back kickstarters because I don't trust those type of things.

Well not all Kickstarters are equal.

For example, I DO TRUST people who have a history of releasing numerous games. Bloodstained and Shenmue III are projects many got behind because they trust the people working on them and games we desire.
