I don't know if i'd go that far. Sure, Miyamoto is not the same as he once was (who ever is), since he's been more involved in managing the overall game department and less on focusing on individual projects, but it's not like things that he gets involved in are becoming duds. With the exception of Sticker Star and the experimental Steel Diver (I've not played those games so I can't judge them), he did make Pikmin 3, recommended online multiplayer in Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, and produced 3D Land, which all have been well received by fans and critics. And it's not like he's become a complete liability. He is training and influencing the new blood, including the devs of Splatoon. And wasn't he involved in some fashion in Super Mario Maker, a game that he's made numerous public appearances for? If we're looking at dud after dud, then he is damaging his own legacy, but that's not really the case. Plus, who the hell knows how the employees interact with Miyamoto, are they yes men or do they have their own input? It's almost like when we assumed who Iwata was when he was something more than we gave him credit for.

Anyway, who knows what's really going on with Star Fox Zero. I've heard mixed receptions on the gyro controls, even though its been already known that you can switch to normal controls. Some have pointed out some improvements over time. We can only wait and see. As much as I can Liam and his work, this is still a rumor and I take rumors with grains of salt. We don't really know what goes inside Nintendo's infamously secret doors. If it turns out crappy, then I won't mind being wrong as it is what it is. Miyamoto has been involved in duds before and is known to experiment, whether its good or bad.

I dunno, the way things stand now Starfox Zero looks destined to be a trainwreck. I'm not just talking about these rumours either; there's the fact it was already delayed, the fact another delay has been rumoured, the general unpopularity of the two-screens concept, the lacklustre graphics...

Of course, there's still the possibility it will turn out fine, but things look pretty worrying at the moment.

I can understand your worries, which is valid. Again, we'll just have to wait and see. Now we'll have to wait for ANOTHER direct with similar anxiety as we did with the November '15 direct since we still don't know a lot about Star Fox Zero.

I think if it does do bad, Soundwave, then they will distance themselves from it, but I can't see them blaming Platinum, especially with their current relationship at the moment. Why screw your co-developer, who has a great relationship with you, when you've basically saved their hack-and-slash gem, rewarded that said gem's main character (and the fans) with her appearance in Smash, let them develop The Wonderful 101, and are using the same staff from Bayonetta to help out with Star Fox Zero? That would put Nintendo in a negative light in the eyes of other developers who would like to collaborate with them in the future.

How hard is it to use the gamepad for gyroscopic aiming like Splatoon? It should be near flawless in 3rd person with the TV. Then they just needed to do minor adjustments possible in first person mode. Maybe a fine control gyroscopic aiming button you hold down for first person gamepad mode.

In any case I am pretty sure they will not release broken or half baked game even that means another delay.

Yeah, suffice it to say I am very anxiously awaiting a closer look at this game now. I need reassurance after all these unpleasant rumours and their long radio silence.

Stupid motion controls. They should just remove them.

To stock this fire a bit more, apparently platinum is not really involved in this game as much as we thought.

Now we can understand that Platinum was not the problem, but Miyamoto. Time to go home Miya.

That's why the game doesn't look as caoutic as TW101 or Bayo 2.

They will release a half baked game if the higher ups are tired and don't want to waste more money in this project.

I think they should give both choices, with more traditional controls and the Gamepad use which I find interesting, and I'm sure I'll use the Gamepad controls. I'll wait for the reviews just in case, but I don't find the game as bad as some people are saying. Let's see. I expect a Direct soon to clarify all. I don't quite buy the rumour because of that "team behind MK8 multiplayer" thing. There was a team behind that? XDD
