Last Week during an Interview with IGN's Jose Otero and Brian Altano Yacht Club Games developer Sean Velasco stated that if Nintendo were to give him the opportunity to work on a 2D Metroid game he couldn't say no. For those of you that didn't know Yacht Club Games is the Development team behind Shovel Knight.

The games are somewhat similar so it could work out well, though I doubt this would happen :/

As someone who dislikes Shovel Knight, I'm actually open to the idea of Yacht Club Games making a 2D Metroid, it'd be very interesting.
