Forums - Gaming - So, I need to bitch about multiplayer FPS for a moment.

Should all FPS let you play with just bots? EX. COD, Killzone

Yes. 18 66.67%

No. 9 33.33%

Total:27

So basically what you're saying is you suck at video games and blame everything/everyone else but yourself. Nice logic.

What? I have no problem saying when I suck at a game. For instance, despite the fact that I've been playing Smash bros since I was a wee lad, I am still aggressively mediocre at it. Which is still better than I am at pretty much all other fighting games.

I'm actually not very good at video games generally speaking. I'm good at racing games, and I'm pretty good at shooters, I'm also decent at Rocket League. But beyond that, I am average at best.

So technically, you're half right. I do kinda suck at video games.

P.S. I forgot to mention! Back in the day, I was an ungodly machine at Time Crisis.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

It's been that way for as long as I remember. The problem with that scenario is there is no proper method to really set people apart from one another in order to be paired up with someone who technically shares your level of skill. Sure there are methods out there that match you up based on your k/d or the amount of times you run or sit still (if that even counts as something) but those methods are too primitive and non specific, the only way we'll ever be able to do proper accurate match-ups is if each match has an AI that records each player and accesses their gameplay skills during that match and by the end they then pair them up with one team or partner for the next round, I don't see that being possible for at least a decade or two if not longer, maybe not even at all.

That said I do find it annoying when one team easily wins and the other loses quickly, though I know this has been a thing for a long time and I've accepted that it will be that way, instead if I steam roll or lose too much I'll simply find another match, especially in Battlefront since team balancing is basically non existent.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I find no enjoyment playing with bots and I don't want them in any online game. Some AI enemies are fine, like those in Titanfall though. I do agree with you about unbalanced teams, it's a problem. There's nothing like a tight match of King of the Hill in Gears of War UE with balanced teams, but far too often other team gets totally crushed.

Funnily, this doesn't bother me in SW: Battlefront. Maybe because it feels so casual and relaxing, winning doesn't seem so important when you can just noodle around getting some kills even when getting destroyed 😊

Teams should be split up by true skill. I believe fighters are already going in this direction.

He's complaining about the matchmaking. It's not only FPS games that sometimes struggle sorting the teams. It's really annoying when you end up playing mostly against bots in Rocket League, because people keep leaving the game when they're losing by 3 or more goals.

Goodness, people actually took what I said seriously.

TIME CRISIS! "Your father will pay the price for destroying the imperial rule...! What happened?" "We've been attacked." "What?" "Nevermind. My men will gun him down."

Love that old game to bits. Played it again at a barcade recently, just as good as I (and it) ever was.

Hope you realise with that how bad it was.

Actually that is something that I like in online FPS's. Sometimes my team wins by a landslide, other times we are butchered. Its funny how tides can change from one match to another.
