Actually for me it's pretty much the opposite, I'm setting up for Yellow because I would prefer Z, we got several hints leading to the Battle Frontier coming to Kalos and  Kalos is also my second favourite region. Instead with a Yellow remake we wouldn't see more than a few new areas and certainly there would be no battle frontier...

Pokemon Z is very likely, it's Pokemon Yellow remake that has pretty much no chance of happening. Gen 1 was already remade, Gen 1 is already being put onto the Virtual Console and bundled this year, Pokemon GO seems Gen 1 focused, the latest mainline games were remakes, and Gen 6's third game is up next based on history.

They are definitely going Full Force with their Anniversary.. really nice!

If it's a Pokemon Yellow remake I'd be disappointed.

If it was a Pokemon Yellow remake that included Johto, Hoenn & Sinnoh however...

I think people keep dreaming with something that has no chance of happening. I can see 2 regions but 4? Especially with sinnoh remakes happening in another 3-4 years? Cmon Broooo!

History don't mean anything going by gen 5. If I were to tell people bw2 will becoming out instead of pokemon gray, you call me crazy xD

Wouldn't that be amazing? Instead of Pokemon Z, we get a remake of Pokemon Yellow? Not Red and Blue, just Yellow?

A remake of yellow would still be a remake of red and blue. Still, I only expect another remake on the 3ds successor, either for the 1st or fourth gen.

A generation 1 remake is completely out of question, given that Red and Blue are releasing in the VC soon and Nintendo and the Pokémon Company have been treating that as a big deal, even having New 3DS bundles.

If this is leading up to some game-related event, I'd say Red shows up in Pokémon Z... or rather, I hope. Because that would be cool, especially because of the possibility of an awesome remix of that song (gens 4 and 5 had way too crappy soundfonts to do the song justice).

Thank you so much for saving me the headache of explaining this. I can't believe it took until page to for this notion to be vigorously shut down. I agree that this is more likely an indication of some Red fanservice in Z. I just hope Blue and Green make a cameo too.

Gen 5 still got it's 3rd game, they just also got a 4th. All that means is instead of Z we could get two games called X2Y2 (but not really since different circumstances), eitherway the release pattern remains the same.

I'm not going to get my hopes up for a Yellow Remake, but if it does come? I am going to be the happiest person alive, an updated Yellow, with hopefully a lot more post-game content than the original, would be beyond my wildest dreams.

It still is a direct sequel, not a third installment. Games are radically different, just same region.

That said my point originally still stands, history didn't repeat itself

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. They've fit 2 in to a game before, with newer more powerful hardware I don't see why they can't better that. Plus it gives a lot more to do in the game. Finish one league and move on to the next and the next etc

I never said it was technically impossible, just doesn't make sense Imo. Especially going by gold silver, notice by the end of the game the level your pokémon  are compare to the other gens?
