Came in thinking this was a joke thread (it's supposed purpose certainly is), but everything said in the OP is pretty much true. Was it like this back when the Wii was still the Revolution? I don't remember the PS4 and XB1 getting nearly as many threads, combined!

Yeah, the huge quantity of NX threads exists because people don't know anything about it. So, people are losing their minds lol. Nintendo is the only one which can solve this. Every Sony/MS/Nintendo fan is impacient to see if Nintendo releases any information, so the speculations and threads would be over. Gamers united! XDD

I wasn't on VGC in the early/mid 2000's, but I know there was a LOT of speculation about what the successor to the DS was going to be. I also remember tons of threads/articles about Project Cafe (Wii U codename like the NX is for the new device).
