My definition of greatest games of all time is a game that stands the test of time and is as fun to play 50 years later as it was the first day it released. So for me, it's probably a toss up between Pac-Man and Super Mario Bros.

Did you ever play Champions of Norrath? |
Can honestly say I havnt. I couldnt even remember the game, and had to look it up.
It looks like a hack & slash, more than a rpg but... back then I was addicted to diablo II, it was the main hack & slash for me.
Still cant believe how much blizzard messed up diablo's core concepts, when they made the 3rd.
Though I heard lateron they fixed much of it.
Chrono Trigger
Donkey Kong Country II: Diddy's Quest
LoZ: Ocarina of Time
LoZ: Twilight Princess
Bioshock
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Smash Bros Melee
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Batman: Arkham City
Pokemon: Ruby and Sapphire
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
To nominate a few...
Without a doubt it is Deus Ex (PC, 2000). It is the best example what can be achieved in video games as a medium and has the best combination of gameplay + atmosphere + story. The PS2 port is great too considering the tech limitations.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

Early arcade: Pac-man
Middel Arcade: Double Dragon
Late Arcade: Sega Daytona
Gen 3: Super Mario bros
Gen 4: Donkeykong contry
Gen 5: Mario 64
Gen 6: GTA: SA
Gen 7: Galaxy 2
Gen 8: Could be splatoon.. but still pending..
Its almost imposible to choose 1.. becourse they represent diffenrent times and expectations.. But should I choose one.. "greatest game ever" It have to be Mario 64 (sorry double dragon and contry)
Ocarina of Time... But didn't we just decide the Top 300 in Smeags's thread?
